Wonderful presentation. Is the CAD artist Mina Ito a member of the production team? Her work is well known in the engineering field.

Does preload also prevent backlash in the motion?

This episode was kind of confusing. Not sure which to pick for a 3D printer. I have the Y-axis which if Horizontal with no heavy load. Any recomendations? A 3D printer uses a rail for the bed, 1 or 2 rails mounted vertically, and 1 horizontal but facing towards you. Thanks Tom

for the loads seen in all but the fastest 3d printers I would suggest a clearance block, this minimizes the amount of stepper force lost in friction and can help to increase your travel speeds without missed steps. In general 3d printer forces are well below the ratings for linear guides and they don't generally require micron or better repeatability. 10 micron is generally good enough for hobbyist printers. (I know this was a 2 year old comment but if it helps anyone else c: )

is there a written document that has lot more detail than what these videos show?

You can always review the datasheets.

Dear Misumi, Let me think I want to tell you quick question: is it Solidwork?
