Hahah...people have no idea. This is Barry muthafvcking Blanchard. Legend. One of the GOATs in mountaineering history. If I knew Barry was running the show at Yamnuska I would have made a much different decision on where to become a guide. Take this course...take every course offered by Yamnuska. To give you an idea of how much sickness this guy threw down look up the Rupal Face and Twight, Robinson and I believe Backes or Cheesmond??? Imagine 4 grown men with rucksacks hanging from 1 screw at 20k feet while a spindrift Avalanche destroys your world for a half an hour. Only then to drop your rope while half way down your retreat AND live to tell the tale. A monster.

Anthony you're spot on. He's a legend. Aside of his epic climbing routes, he's been called one of the worlds best guides of all times. The knowledge this man has about mountain climbing is so vast it blows your mind. Full disclosure he is a friend of mine.

Is the pack "tight as a sausage" in order to avoid unpredictable weight transfer? Thank you :)

Umbrella is a great idea. And it is the only thing that is really waterproof and breathable. Gore-Tex is not.

Wow every gears are from premium stores , how can i buy good quality things with 320 usd salary per month ?))
@ChickenKhorma4 жыл бұрын
@Keith Yes and no. Spend money and be picky on important things like rope and hardware, not on the latest Patagucci clothing. It's also mostly a big initial cost, your gear should last you a long time.

so, do you not have to bring a tent?

I think he said that the trip is going up to a hut, so no need. He did mention a tarp though for an emergency shelter.

You joke about war and peace. I worked at neels gap on the 30th mile of the Appalachian Trail. We did pack shakedowns. I actually removed a hard cover copy from a guys pack, among other oddities. His was by no means the worst id seen.
