Greetings! Sorry for the delayed reply! I've had my hands full with fixing up my wonderful bird between work trips. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos. We really want to help people experience the fun of seaplane flying and the work that goes into it. Cheers!

Great video! Could you please explain the radio calls/frequency over Hollywood and Miami shore line? When I fly VFR there I never know who to talk to other than to be on 123.45 ...
@theflipflopfliers Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! The VFR sectional for that area has an advisory frequency of 123.025 posted for coastal operations. It's actually the CTAF for the Miami Seaplane Base X44. All the banner tows and most other sightseeing operators and beach traffic are on that frequency. After a couple times out you'll be familiar with the local landmarks. If FLL is in east operations, they'll let you transition along the shoreline north and south at 500' or below. Call their tower frequency 120.200 for initial contact and a squawk code for your transition through the Class C. They're very helpful. I hope this helps! See you out there! 🤘😁

Love this video, the best out there. I really love the Seamax, but never had the opportunity to experience it. Have a trip planned from Stockholm/Sweden to visit the Miami Boat Show, any chance you plan to fly and want some company in the air?

Hit me up when you have firm plans and we'll see what we can do. What's your flying experience level and do you have any float flying time?
@mediocreman211 ай бұрын
If you turtle in the water with that canopy how do you get out?
@theflipflopfliers11 ай бұрын
It's a good question. The Seamax is quite resistant to going over when landing in the water with the gear down. A few have done just that without fipping. There are some videos out there of a landing with the gear down and a takeoff from a rough strip that ended up with the aircraft running off the end into a body of water at takeoff speed. In each case, no flipping. If it were to occur, like any vehicle submerged in water, one would have to allow water into the cabin to equalize pressure which would allow the canopy to be opened quite readily to allow escape. Of course this assumes a level head and no injuries. Cheers!

what if you use flaps during water take-off? This is not ok to have such pitch,
@theflipflopfliers9 ай бұрын
Hello! Thanks for stopping by and watching! 2 notches, or about 15° of flaps is standard for water takeoffs. Works great to get you up and going in about 600 feet. Cheers!

A little spooky how low this thing sits in the water

It certainly isn't a Caravan on floats but just like any other aircraft, if you abide by your limitations, you'll have a safe and fun time! Cheers!

All too common on KZbin. Content editors don't seem to appreciate that aviation audiences might want to hear the aircraft.
