a snarky yet logical Spock.... maybe a greedier Spock but unfortunately (for him) held back by a pesky sense of loyalty .... bloody stupid loyalty gets in the way all the time ... but alas, the loyalty made for a far more interesting ending ... kind of like Han Solo returning at the last moment ... the image of Avon standing above Blake to face all of those Federation guards in defiance was amazing (one of my fav moments in science fiction tv ... but then lights out, cut to credits and shooting sounds - who knows what really happened :D.....oops that's a spoiler :D )

@@davidking6750 I bought the box set and those scenes were sticking. I sent the damn thing back. I'll buy it again another time. Such a disappointment to see the last episode and then when Tarrant runs off the whole thing stops working

As much as Avon was the spice of Blakes 7 I feel the show did not work so well without Blake. They needed to bounce of each others ideals and pragmatisms.

Yes, I agree...Tarrant was brought in to give us some semblance of the absent Blake/von dynamic, but it fell flat.

Blake's 7, Dr Who, UFO, and Star Trek, reinforce the notion that poverty enhances artistic creativity. Compare that to today's lavishly budgeted blockbusters with their explosions, special effects, chase scenes, actresses who can not keep their clothes on, pathetic and often woke story lines, and woeful, predictable, dialogue, that nobody except adolescents want to watch.
