Even after just acquiring the Sigma 24-70 and enjoying the results, I contacted my local shop and put in my pre-order. We'll see if I get first shipment like I did with the A7IV. For me the size/weight reduction and the minimum focus distance at 70mm sold it for me.

Guys, be careful. I had to buy three of them. The first two were so unsharp and blurry, it was a disgrace. The 3rd one is perfect - edge to edge - corner to corner at all mm and open aperture. Sometimes the autofocus is bad at 24mm, I hope Sony will provide a firmware update.

No internal zooming? What? You did it with the PZ16-35 lens. Let's get with it, Sony. Internal zooming offers incredible advantages over this archaic design. Smooth effortless zooming with the power slider or remotely is highly desirable, especially for video. Plus, it costs way too much.

There are so many zoom Lenses, I want top of the line compact PRIME Lenses, thank you ! Compact (GM) Macro Lenses, Compact (GM) wide angle Lenses, Compact (GM) short tele Lenses, a 1.4x tele converter for the Sony 135mm 1.4 !
