Well, I'd say Wacom is the alternative now. I won't chose Wacom over Huion even if it was cheaper only because they make massive mistakes with their design choices and decisions.

If it has a lower initial activation force, I'm down for a replacement of my worn PW517! But seriously guys you need to add an eraser to these babies and start thinking about a pen with barrel rotation!

As a Wacom and Huion user, the eraser is a gimmick; most people never use the eraser. It's more convenient to use a keyboard shortcut. But barrel rotation? Sign me up. I consider the Wacom the gold standard but even with its low activation force it never felt like a traditional pencil. The IAF is overstated as I consider the IAF of Huion pens (ranging from Pentech 2.0 to 3.0) to be more than good enough. I've never experienced any drawing where I said, I wish it had lower activation force. Now, there are artists who have a really fine touch and may need it, but there are so many workarounds such as if painting, you can reduce flow or if you're drawing change the pressure sensitivity curve or use smaller pencil sizes to simulate a fine stroke and so on...

@@asimian8500 I worked 10 years with a cintiq 21 ux and I didn't feel it to be a gimmick at all... Shame to hear you didn't find a use for an extra pressure sensitivity tip on you pen because I certainly did =D. In some softwares I even had an additional brush like an oily blender or a soft brush, and it was just convenient to have a soft eraser on the pen and the option tu turn the brush tip I was using into a hard eraser via hotkey

@@salmadys Sounds like a great use. My main issue and others I know who use Wacom is the inconvenience of flipping the pen over when a button press is faster. Now, barrel rotation is amazing especially if you like natural media tools. Honestly, I've given up on simulation of traditional tools like watercolor or oil even though Photoshop with adjustments comes close as well as Rebelle.

I bought the PW550 and am using it with the Kamvas Pro 24 (4K). I'm very satisfied. Great quality, comfortable and soft pen pressure made it fun to paint. In particular, Wacom makes the new pen unusable in older models, and I love that the pen is compatible so that it can also be used in previous releases. You're the best!

​@@Sannoki Only works on more recent models. Won't work with Kamvas 16 (2021). There's a list on the Huion website. As a Wacom and Huion user, I'm thrilled that Huion pens are getting better, but honestly I have no issues with either Pentech 2.0 or 3.0 pens. Yes, the Wacom is a bit better, but neither feel like a traditional pencil.

I ordered kamvas studio 16 on the first day of pre-sale. But it's hard to manufacture the product, so they'll send it in mid-April. So I'm waiting for a total of two months. By the way, the people who ordered a few days ago are receiving the product well? What the hell is this?

Looks like it might be what I am missing with my 24 Plus. I struggle a bit with the pressure after having used Wacom for years and prefer the thinner body, hopefully you can hold it at more of an angle and draw on the side more without the short nib and stubby part of the 517 getting in the way.

It does. Got mine 2 days ago its brilliant, you can get angles like a real pencil thw slim one.

@@ragecandy Yeah I did. It is marginally better. I think the pressure is more linear because I get fewer blobs. Also the thinner pen tip, more like a sharpened pencil means you can see where you are drawing easier than the 517's stubby short nib obscuring your view and getting in the way. One slight niggle is that the buttons on the pen are easier to press by accident, being a thin stylus there is less surface area so my largish fingers are always touching the buttons. It is an improvement overall. Don't expect any old 517 nibs to work, they are about 30% thicker than the 550s. The pen came with a single felt tip type nib installed.

hmm... it looks like an old Wacom pen :\ Huion 517 is better for me! Сurved grip area is better than Wacom. cons: only 2 buttons and yes, the "thick" tip is worst... short grip area ;) maybe in the future... new Wacom pen is thinner tip and yes... it has 3 buttons on side - the best! Thank for save compatibility with previous models.

Lag is dependent on computer hardware and optimization. I use a Kanvas 22 plus everyday on photoshop with documents that exceed 6000 pixels and rarely get any lag.

Huion pens have the best ergonomy and design/functionality among all digital pens. Wacom and others should learn some lessons here.
