@WPCrafter3 жыл бұрын
Sorry yes, just added this to the video description which covers child themes kzbin.info/www/bejne/naK3kqGDbbCmd80 Yes the child theme builder enables you to build out complete websites using Elementor or Gutenberg, then package them up into their own child theme. You sell the child theme. The customer installs it on their website and with a few mouse clicks their site is set up with the design you sold them. Now this new cloud takes it even further because you can also include access to a cloud library to made just for them. People are already doing this right now and crushing it.

It is nice, but not a game changer. Divi portability feature has existed for a long time, exporting and importing a json file is actually a simpler process, not everything needs to be in the clouds. The more external resources you connect to your website, the slower it gets.
@WPCrafter3 жыл бұрын
Naw I think import / exporting is a drag and it's completely unpractical. How are you going to manage 100 different designs? Also, you don't have the controlled client access. I am not sure if Divi's color and font selections are hard set. I mean if it works for you, great, but I don't find manually importing text files a practical at all. Just my opinion though. Also if you have staff its even more challenging.
@mistergeko3 жыл бұрын
I used Divi quite a bit. When Kadence came out I never looked back. Divi and Kadence/gutenberg are completely different game levels. Divi has global colors since recently, but they work much harder than in Kadence and they don't have global typography which is a pain to set with presets and then manually click each time. Also I don't get their "everything should be in the builder" philosophy. I don't want to open a page, load the builder, then use a module that has color options and then click some small icon to get to the global colors. Then you go to the settings for the theme, and there is a color palette yo can set, but that is just so you have it at hand, it's not global colors lol. They didn't think this through, just adding features on top of features and trying to make sense of their decisions. That's where I said enough is enough I need a better approach for my business. That being said, using json import/export is not a solution for clients. Clients want "one-click installs". And you want that too, because then you can charge that one-click install much more than having them sweat and call you back when they import json file into the media library :) I had a colleague tell me yesterday that he is going to get me build his new websites from now on as he saw how I migrated his website and speeded it up in just a few moments on a new server, something his former "developers" have done much slower. The point is, he was impressed with my speed and smoothness for the process. But the reality is, I use tools that are not some random free plugins in WP repository but from credible companies, theme like Kadence that is blazing fast and future proof, automated my other processes so that my clients pay for my brain, not the hands :) Also, making client's website ping your "cloud website" to fetch layout code data once every few days, that's not bloated. It doesn't slow the website down. What you think is happening probably is coming from Divi and when their builder fetches existing premade layouts from their own servers, you can make a coffee until that is done. So this is not a real Kadence cloud, this is a plugin that lets your client website fetch block layout information from your reference website. Super easy and super fast.
@mistergeko3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I get you, having that many websites to manage I wouldn't change from Divi either lol. I hope one day Divi will release something native to their platform so that power users like yourself can benefit and integrate it on top of the existing websites.
