sinigang's basic ingredients are tomatoes and onions. sometimes its flavored with kamias or sampaloc or guava. kare-kare is said to be the filipino version made with peanuts) of india's curry. thats why kare sounds like curry. ox tail is a common ingredient put in kare-kare.

9:25 there's a various ways of doing sinigang but the most common way is using sampaloc (tamarind) depends on what part of the Philippines you are...our family use sun dried kamyas to make the broth sour (sorrel or bumbling plum) and some do use guava...
