Thank you for all of the wonderful feedback on the LumenPnP design! We've been implementing lots of improvements coming up with v3, which we're excited to announce they will be shipping by the end of Q3 2022. The focus for this release is ease of use. We want it to be as easy as possible to get your machine assembled and running a job.
We have lots planned for feeders as well, including a public Beta this Fall, and estimated shipping by the end of the year.

opulo.io/products/lumenpnp Thank you so much to all of y'all that have been part of this project for the past couple years. This machine wouldn't be what it is today if not for all the advice, support, and ideas that you've shared. Thank you.

Whoa! Lovely! Are you planning on doing a crowdfunding campaign in the spring? That would both get the word out more AND give a better chance of a lower price because of volume discounts for parts.

...and to *REALLY* show off how fast anyone can get it together, pick a grandma to build it who barely knows which end of a screwdriver to use.

You're doing a good job, Stephen! It sure looks like you've eliminated every pain point I experienced assembling my LumenPNP. Not that any of them were excruciatingly painful! I thought it was a pretty easy build overall. I know some people want to spend as little money as possible, but I'd happily pay $600 to skip days of 3D printing and hours of assembly work. Getting double the work area and a second tool makes the new revision seem like a fantastic deal.

I wish to some day have this excitement and energy that you have when talking about your work - it shows passion and care for the actual product, not the amount of zeroes behind the next paycheck. What you do, and just as importantly how you share it, is lovely :) Seeing the LumenPnP becoming more and more professional is incredibly wonderful, and I can not wait to either get my workplace to get a PnP like yours, or just get one myself! ((Seriously, you'd think that a fusion research center has a Pick&Place by now but... Nah))

Plug and play "Fluid Dispenser" would be great for solder paste or silver epoxy dispensing. It's worth thinking about.

Looks great. Best of luck with the kits. Might want to add the max. component hight to the specs. Most table top PNP machines are limited to a 5mm max. This limitation pushed me to build my own.

It looks pretty amazing. I wish I had a reason to use it. My board quantities are 1 - 3 and so I assemble them myself. I would definitely consider this if I had more boards to assemble. One day…

Hi Stephen, love the progress you have made, been following your channel from the beginning. Will v3 be available in your github at some point? just started printing v2 parts but wondering if i should be printing v3 parts instead. Or is this going to be only available as your partly assembled kit? I like the idea of actually building the whole thing, i love the build process

I just received the V2 kit which was very easy to assemble. The instructions are clear and if you have assembled a prusa 3d printer before then it's a walk in the park. Hopefully we can upgrade the V2 to V3 (a kit?). The only thing that has left the experience down at my side is a dead controller board. Probably the board needs some ESD protection and the supplied step sticks need testing before shipping. Hopefully my support ticket will be read so I can finally go on with automating my prototypes and skip the eye strain on the smd work... :)

Big fan and would really like to buy one (or more). Question though: On your site it says 0402 is in beta. What does that mean in terms of functionality? Can the hardware do it but you haven't enabled it in software yet (working thru bugs)? Does it have a n% hit rate? Is there an ETA on being able to pick 0402?

Same, my V2 arrived last week and I just started slicing parts to begin printing. Other than opening it up to look into the box, the kit is still intact. I was glad to receive it in way under the 6 weeks, but now I have PnP envy. I guess I'll hold off on printing for a bit.

Great job @Stephen Hawes. I would be interested in speaking with you about this for one of own automatic tool changer boards. I currently use regular parts and hand assemble. Would love to do short run manufacturing with SMT parts.

If you need more stepper IO for testing auto feeders, it seems like DUET 3D printer control boards and their expansion boards would be a no brainer.
