a lot of people suspect moonbyul may be under the lgbt spectrum but because shes a korean idol, the spread of those types of rumors can be harmful. a lot of us think it but no one but moonbyul knows for sure. (shes mentioned her ideal type is a man, but any closeted person could say that so truly we will never know unless she comes forward about it which we doubt she will)

I think it's inevitable that a big name idol will come out some day. If Moonbyul is LGBTQ+ (not saying she is), it wouldn't surprise me if she was that first big idol to come out. She just seems so confident and comfortable with herself that I can see her saying "Fuck it, hey Korea I'm gay"

@@TravisTheRed yeah, but an idol coming out doesn't only depend on their confidence and how comfortable they are with themselves. there are plenty of idols who all but stated that they're gay, but they still can't do so explicitly because of their livelihood.

Moonbyul said that she wanted to be reborn as a man. She’s the only one who answered “man” in their group, hwasa wheein and solar said they’d still want to be a woman. It’s kind of a hint for me, but it’s not our business to out someone. It’s difficult in South Korea to be LGBTQ+ and much more difficult if you’re an idol or a celebrity.

If ever a day comes that moonbyul tells the world she's gay is the end of her career... She lives in Korea (period) She can be this greasy and boyish/masculine in the guise of fashion/fan service/role in the group. But, once she confirms anything, it will be a social suicide in Korea.

One of the many things that I love about Mamamoo is that after a bit, people tend to forget that Mamamoo are essentially the living embodiment of the infamous phrase "Expect the Unexpected". THEN Mamamoo comes out to an event whose theme is "Winter Wonderland" dressed completely AS Telletubbies.

they got one fact wrong with solar .. "SOLAR" doesn't come from kim yongSUN it comes from "do re mi fa *SO LA* ti do" ... initially she wanted it to be doremi but the members (especially hwasa) doesn't like it and convinced her to change it..

Yep, prior to filming the Poledancing scene for the Egotistic MV, Yong had only a single 1 hour learning session. She was advised to give it a try by her doctors as a possible way to help her with her back issues, which she got after they [Mamamoo] was involved in a car accident. She has back spasms after flare ups on occasions, during their Cover of "Good Luck" (AOA) on Queendom, when she accidentally tripped, she was taken to the hospital [iirc] because it started to flare up. Then, during the infamous SBS 2019 Award Show [in which Wendy of RV would get injured], as they (MMM) were leaving the Photo Wall [Part of their Red Carpet where Artists would have pictures taken], she would trip & get slightly injured on some steps. There were concern that her back was going to flare up again & she too would visit the hospital.

Byul also has some back issues [iirc stemming from the same car accident] which is why she won't dance as much as some of the others, also why she won't do a lot of hip dance style movements.

That segment with Moonstar at 14:15 is from Queendom. The choreographer is Lia Kim, owner of 1 Million Dance Studio, and is famous herself. You need to watch Queendom, if you haven't already. You'll learn to love the other groups on it, like AOA and Lovelyz.

This main and lead positions were given by fans, it's not official and that means it's not a fact. They're all great vocalists and performers and some will even argue that wheein is a better vocalist than solar. That said i don't think main and lead positions should be attributed to them cos they're all amazing and totally all rounders

Solar has said that she doesn't consider herself to be the main vocalist because everyone in the group is so good. The only official position in the group is Solar as the leader. They used to introduce themselves by saying things like Solar: "I'm in charge of vocals." Moonbyul: "I'm in charge of rap and performance." Wheein: "I'm a vocalist and in charge of performance." Hwasa: "I'm a vocalist and rapper." Basically that just confirms who takes responsibility for keeping the group on the same page rather than positions like main vs lead: Solar is the leader, Moonbyul & Wheein are the dance captains, and Hwasa is the "My Way" maknae. 😂

Im Korean and showing that much affection is not really considered ig being a part of lgbtq+ just because when u are that close of friends wtih someone it is normal to be that affectionate. Even i do that to my friends and we all just mess around with eachother as a way of showing affection😂 personally think from a korean persons point of view i think she is straight but just embraces her more tomboy side there are many videos of her being more girly of u wanna check it out🤗 its just the difference in culture

You can watch their MMMTV series (some have english subs). You'll see them in their crazy beagle puppy mode. On Byul's sexuality. ahaha we cannot assume, tho she doesn't use gender labels to her songs (I've read it somewhere). It can be fan service or it can be real, but important thing is they support LGBTQ+. :)
