BTS was most definitely on the "Big 3" company's radar. In 2013-2014 there was serious talks about BTS disbandment due to financial struggles & during this time BigHit was approached multiple times from SM & YG about them buying BTS from BigHit. This is a very common practice/tactic used by the Big 3 to stifle competition for their groups. If they see a smaller company debut a group that has the potential to compete with their artists they'll buy that group from the smaller company & then put them on indefinite hiatus until the group's contract expires, effectively ending their careers while maintaining the success of their already established "main" popular groups at the time. This would have been BTS' fate had Bang PD sold them to one of these bigger companies. BUT Bang PD refused to sell them. He believed in them so strongly that he put everything on the line to give them the best chance possible to succeed. And his bet paid off.

It's my understanding that Big Hit didn't realise how traumatic the events in the first two episodes of American Hustle Life would be for the boys who were all pretty young at that time. They had to change things up so that the boys got more out of it and the fans weren't up in arms. Boy in Love and Just One Day couldn't be more different and set the pattern for the wide range of different genres they would cover. It was a relief for Jin and Jimin who could now express themselves in a more comfortable way. Jason Derulo's Savage Love didn't top the charts until the remix with BTS but when he celebrated getting number 1 he failed to mention BTS. He wouldn't have got that without them. Not good form. I can't see why the Grammys best group category is shared with duos. It's not fair to either of them and there should be a category for collaborations because they are not duos which are permanent. BTS should have been nominated for Black Swan and ON which were more than good enough. Although we know the Grammys are flawed and not worth their time it still rankles that they didn't win for Dynamite or Butter. Still they did do that amazing performance at last year's Grammy Award Show and I'm sure when the audience saw that they wondered why BTS hadn't won. BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan which, as you said, means, Bulletproof Boy Scouts. Thanks for reacting to this which is great for those who need to have an idea of BTS' history.

And as of today BTS was snubbed at Grammys for the 3rd time in a row😒 But I love hiw much Army validation means lol. Without BTS there, no one watched it. We had our own streaming party while the event happened & we charted almost their entire discography and also one if our Army member won a Grammy!! BTS & Armys keep winning no matter what happens

Jo Kwon from BH (2AM)is still going strong. (He isn't there now though) There is actually a lovely interview out there from Jo where he speaks about acceptance and to become who he wanted to become and was helped by BangPD. Bang asked him if he wanted to be a regular Idol or if he wanted to follow his dream and basically told Jo to follow his heart so he did and then BangPD gifted Jo his first set of high heels.

43:12 Actually all members of BTS was traumatized of that kidnapping prank on them, so RM as a leader got angry and talked to their company not to do it again...the rest of the episodes in American hustle life is funny and chaotic , i enjoyed watching it over and over....BTS went to US learn more on hiphop, culture, environments, know and meet people...BTS members even experienced working as hotel cleaners, planes cleaners etc...

I actually watched and loved the first two episodes of American Hustle Life. The fact that it began in NYC, Brooklyn, Queens and South Bronx...they needed to know about what they are claiming to be. You want to act hard and tough... well, lets show you WHY we had to act hard and tough. Street life is no game and this is all many of us Black American youth had in the inner cities during the 80s-90s. Street life or death/jail was what we did. I use to rap and break dance back in the day. We did it between classes and battled other streets/towns to show how much better we were. All in All, Coolio is teaching them to basically TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU KNOW... not pretending to be something you aren't. When they did this was when they started to get true recognition. School life, Hormones, Love life and the issues of Korean Society.... NOT HIP HOP. I am a grandmother of 6 and have had to be hard on the two oldest who are in their early teens. They tryna act hard saying things like, "you dont want this smoke!". I got up and almost knocked the child out. WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT SMOKE? Stop saying things you have no clue about. You dont know anything about street life, you've been raised in the suburbs. I saw the fear in her eyes like those boys. THEY NEED THAT to wake them up. Moral of the story: BE YOU, not who you think you should be to get attention.

When the presenter said “ the dark chapter in BTS lives” I think he was inferring more about the name of the album Dark and Wild and less about the cringy moments. The agency put a lot of work into him. American Hustle Life was reality TV but also training for them all. Now the agency trains all their younger groups like they did JK. Like they scored with him. I had such an awesome time at the concert at the cinema! I made my first real life army friend 😁 The cinema I went to sounds a bit like yours where you can't really see many other people but I could hear people singing along and everyone in my row was getting into it and singing and dancing in our seats it was great 🤩 I was also impressed with myself I am new army too and I knew every song except for one! 😄

I know this was 8 days ago so no doubt you will not see this comment but 2AM was a joint group with JYP Jyp is a good friend of Bang they were roommates when they studied in the US I think and he worked with him in JYP until going out to start his own label they also had a girl group called GLAM, unfortunately, one of the girls had a bad scandal which nearly cost the company they had a great song that RM helped write called Party xxo and Jimin was in the MV not sure if anyone else was in it there were people in costumes so it's possible, this was in 2012 before they debuted

I disliked all the English songs on first hearing, but each of them is their own defiant A moment's reflection revealed that - simple as each song seemed - there was more there than was immediately obvious. Dynamite was a clear challenge to America, saying, yeah, tell us you can't understand THIS! Butter was an ironic reflection of the racist focus on their appearance, in itself sarcastic and defiant - and honest. PTD was immediately obvious as a defiant refusal to concede anything in the face of what for many of us felt like despair. However, I like those songs now simply for the pure intention to make ARMY all over the world feel better. Oh my, I think it is fantastic that Rice Squad updated this - but, SO MUCH has happened since! They need to try to do another one soon...

For me watching the first couple of eps of American Hustle Life makes me want to throat punch the company for thinking that was going to be 'good television'.... at the expense of the members, some of whom were very young still at the time.. I think JK was only 15 still... not a good choice by anyone involved... Kudos to RM for speaking to the company about it never happening again...

Jimins story isnt complete. PD didn't want jimin, but Rm said to keep him along with the other members they wanted him to rap, but suga told the company to make him sing, but jimin had to teach himself and only had 6 months to catch up with the other members.
