If you switch to chick starter, just provide crushed oyster shell for free feeding. If any of your layers sense they need calcium, they’ll free feed on the crushed oyster shell

Wow you are so close to hitting the magic number! It’s funny how they have to fight for a pecking order, usually you just throw some down so they can pick thru it, there is plenty to go around! It’s been a warm day here but it’s so hazy outside from the smoke coming out of Canada. I really couldn’t smell any smoke but maybe we are too far away to pick up the scent but it is so smoky it’s like fog! Hope you are having a great day! I saw a recipe for hush puppies made with shredded zucchini in it. It would be easy to just shred some up and add it to the mix!

I had a rooster getting aggressive, a guy at work told me next time he comes at me to reach down and pluck a tail feather, it establishes dominance, and sure enough it worked. Give it a try

I'd be starting to let the chickens out to run around on the grass, so they can scratch around and get a few big fat bugs. Start off say 1 hour before sun down. They know the pen is their home and safe, so they will all go back inside before it is dark. after a couple of weeks you could let them out for a couple of hours.

I had my HVAC company install a soft start, I've yet to check the brand. Highly recommend one due to the low load on startup for the grid, generators or anything else.

@@TKCL I have a Polish chicken that has been alone for a couple months while babies are getting bigger. She also was attacked by her other roommates that were rehomed to a friend. They're 8 weeks now and have been doing the see no touch for 2 weeks and before that she seen them outside of the run when they were younger. I tried a week ago to let them out with her but she really chased them and tried to pin one down. So now I'm doing more time until they are close to 10 weeks. My baby polish is tiny. Any other suggestions?
