Everyone welcome the newest addition to the farm, Ziggy! Introducing the new kitten to our German Shepherd, Beck, was an absolute breeze compared to introducing him to our Orange Tabby, Bleu. Beck was excited this time around! Bleu was not happy at first, but slowly warmed up to Ziggy.

It's always fun to see how well cats and dogs get along when in a good environment. How amazing that they get over their initial suspicions, and choose to befriend each other so thoroughly, given the chance. I've seen this happen repeatedly, it's like they want more than anything to be friends, even with a totally different species. Of course it helps when they are introduced to each other in a sensible way that lets them not feel threatened by each other's presence, as in this video. I think they have chosen to become family to each other. Thanks for sharing!

Why is everyone complaining about how many times he says goodboy. Obviously its a sign of reassuring that the dogs are doing the right thing by not loosing focus on behaving good towards a new animal. I have two cats, one day when they were in the garden a 3 months neighbour’s cat came ( what crack head lets a 3 months old kitten wonder the streets is beyond me). So first day my younger and very large cat and a new 3 months old kitten stood in fromt of each other all puffed up, the next day the slept together under a palm leaf, and that was how the friendship started - they play like crazy. When the baby comes they first “kiss” ( sniff each other nose to nose) and then they start wrestling and running. Somehow it never worked with our elder cat - they sniffed each other when we brought the kitten and that was it. They never became friends, they never wrestled, they do not groom each other. They just coexist. But with the neighbour cat they became the best of friends. So sometimes it just works. Owner has nothing to do with anything

As someone who has never owned a cat, I find their reflexes and agility very impressive. It's also quite interesting seeing that the dog didn't flinch when the kitten pawed at him, unlike the cat. The kitten therefore, didn't mess with the dog as much. Parallels human behavior somewhat.

As someone who has worked with cat colonies before, I can definitely assure that there's no aggression going on in there. Cat fights are terrifying to witness and be a part of, there's a lot of yowling and pissing and swatting with claws out, teeth bearing and hissing, and blood will fly at any moment, even yours if you're on the wrong place, wrong time. Also, cats look extremely tense, all of their body distort from the tensed up muscles prepping to jump or run, besides having their signature raised back hairs and puffed tails. None of that was displayed in here, and mainly, there were no claws out in sight in this video. People need to stop crying wolf over everything.

True story: I've never had a cat in my life. I do have two Pitt Bulls; Father/Son, who look so mean & intimidating, & are two of the biggest SISSIES you'll ever meet. This stray cat, who looks a lot like the kitten on this video just shows up @ my front gate, & I didn't have the heart to just throw her away much less ignore her. I gave her a can of Tuna, & she wolfed it down, along with water & milk. My plan was to never keep her. 2 months later, she's now running the Yard, & Druno & Pluto adore her. Good Lord, I now sleep with 2 dogs & a cat on my damn bed! Her Native American name is now, 'White Feet"

Reminds me of the first time we introduced our rescue dog to the 2 cats - Steve & Boris. Boris disappeared behind the sofa and Steve was halfway down the stairs when he caught site of Lady the dog. I nearly pee'd myself when Steve walked slowly backwards up the stars as if someone just reversed the film. They all became such good mates that the cats would follow me & Lady the half mile walk to the shops and sit outside the shop while I went in. They became quite the talking point around town. ✌

Not really... There are situations of cats barely tolerating eachother or even leaving households. Cats are not pack animals and they are territorial as well... So nope just because there is the most of videos on youtube of happy endings the reality is diferent. Introduction of new cat is always dangerous and may end up with kitten being dead if you don't do it properly - but thats not a material for cute video isn't it?

You DO need to be careful depending on your cats personality and age. Usually it is fine but there are sometimes cases where they simply just can't get along :(. @@morganablackwater2017 my boyfriend and i just got a new kitten and my cat has swiped at him a couple times but he never uses his claws. it's a way of putting the kitten in it's place and letting him know that he is in charge. my cat is very territorial and even tries to bury his food when he is done. but he is starting to warm up to the kitten and even cleaned it. he just wanted to scare him and it worked but using a spray bottle for punishment any time something like that happens fixes everything. im always right next to them and have my arm on my cat when the interact in case anything happens but i can tell my cat wouldn't harm him at all. and lions hunt in packs by the way 😁
