I just received my markers. So lovely. The stand was a very nice surprise as well. Your tip on pushing the nib away from you was very helpful. Thank you. By the the way, a lot of my new Copics have inferior cap closure and the were practically all dried out right away. And who do you call? Japan isn’t available for that. Over 350 markers and who knows where each and every one was purchased. 🤬

These look good. Easy to figure out what colours to use. 😊

Interesting. I hate to buy more markers since I finally have a decent collection of Copics. But I have something of a love/hate relationship with them. I’ll go check these out. Thanks!

Mindy, the quality of these markers appears beautiful from what you are showing us. Before I buy more Copics, I think I may want to try these out. Can I ask about your two flowers that you were coloring? Did you make these or did you buy them from a company? They're gorgeous flowers - and your coloring of them makes them even more spectacular!

Hi Patti-thanks so much for the kind words about my work! These markers are really lovely and definitely will be a good complement to a Copic collection. As for the flowers, they are some of my original drawings that I release as A2 coloring panels! These were just some leftovers that I had from an older release. 😊

Odd question - Why would the purple's being too juicy be an issue? I use alcohol markers so I understand issues with bleeding and feathering out when you use to much ink etc, however! Purple's are notorious for being difficult to blend, so I'd imagine having purple's being extra juicy would be lovely!!
@emilymidgett62272 жыл бұрын
Hi there! When too much ink flows, it causes bleeding and feathering beyond the borders of the image and messes up the finished product. Don’t worry-the “fixed” markers are just the right level of juicy. 😊

Hi there. Thanks for sharing! Do you know how OLO recommends storing their markers (vertical/horizontal)?
@emilymidgett62272 жыл бұрын
Hi Brande- I checked with OLO, and they said that they can be stored either way!

I enjoyed your video. I am new here, but saw you were doing a review on OLO markers. I saw a different KZbin video on these markers. So I clicked on your video to see your take. My understanding is that these are water based markers, but they work like alcohol markers and give a marker finish. Please can you check this out or confirm that they are indeed alcohol markers.
@emilymidgett62272 жыл бұрын
Hi Gila, I just double checked with the folks at OLO to confirm that they are indeed 100% alcohol ink. No water involved at all! I hope that helps!

@@emilymidgett6227 very impressive! Wow. Thank you for checking. This is the most prompt response I have ever received as far as I can recall. The markers are impressive then. Interesting because the KZbinr used water and the markers responded like watercolours. It would be very interesting to see if you get the same results if you add water. Thank you. This helps a lot.

Hmm, that's odd. Alcohol markers and water don't really react to each other. I just tried my OLO markers with water and nothing happened. The alcohol evaporates too quickly for the ink to react with water. (This is why you have to use special kinds of ink to stamp with for each type of coloring medium- i.e. waterproof vs. alcohol ink -friendly.) I wonder if perhaps the video you watched was for a different type of marker? Or perhaps the KZbinr was using the OLO blender pen.

@@emilymidgett6227 I realised that I mixed up 2 videos 🙈. Both showcased amazing breakthroughs in markers. The other video was about markers called Sketchers by Molotow. I would love to see a video on these because the Sketchers are impressive. You seem to be 1 of the few people who tackle both alcohol and water based markers. This is impressive. I subscribed because you replied so quickly and took the time to actually check. Now I am going to try view your videos because of this unique ability. I have been asking what the difference between alcohol and water based markers for ages. Mainly my question is: when do I choose to use which markers or what project do I use which markers for? Sorry for the mistake, I was tired and so excited, combination for either extremely good creativity or messages that get mixed up🤣🙈.

Incredibly over priced! ...128 set would be nearly £800 (UK) and that's without taxes and duties added. Not impressed.
@emilymidgett62272 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome to your opinion. I have nothing to do with pricing. However, at least in the US, these markers are comparably priced to other alcohol markers and have 2x as much ink. Seems like a better value to me. But again, you’re welcome to your opinion and free to not purchase. Thanks for your comment.

They are over priced. Way over priced. They aren't better than copic, they aren't better than ohuhu. Now copic markers range from 5 to 8 bucks a market. They are over priced as well. The ohuhu range from a dollar to 60 cents a marker, blend just as well as copics and the olo and butter can touch them on price. Only copic can challenge them on color selection. Olo would do themselves a favor and drop the price per market by a dollar and they might be worth it. But I'm not gonna pay 160 bucks for 64 markers. That's just stupid.
