Bought Omnisphere last week, I don't know squat about plugins or VSTi I managed to load it into reaper and get it working with an old Korg keyboard. This thing is an absolute beast , it seems bottomless as far as capabilities go. Anyone who can't make music with this should have their fingers removed. I haven't even touched on the features shown in this video and it still blows me away.

I am saving for this...
@MarkShawMedia5 жыл бұрын
What Omnisphere needs to implement is some kind of ability to save stacks of sounds. When creating soundtracks for example, in a movie setting you would want a stack of sounds for various scenes. I find myself having to either take written notes on the sounds I'm using for each scene or do a screenshot of the names of the sounds I'm using. If you could just save out patches stacks and come right back to them while exploring other sounds this would be a huge benefit and time saver, especially if you could label the stack saves with scene names. Omnisphere is definitely geared toward the soundtrack arena so to me, this is a no brainer update needed. Anyone else agrees? If so share and comment so that the folks at Spectrasonics get wind of this.

All you need is a D.A.W. of your choice and all 3 Spectrasonics software and then your set. Omnisphere is the best soft synth hands down!! and Trillion Bass sounds are real full,warm, and amazingly accurate sounding, not to mention you can tweak as much as you want on Trillion to. Just.. . Hands down Spectrasonics is the best! and people.. . pay for your software so they can come out with diff. product with our support man. I would like to see spectrasonics come out with some effects. you already know they would be top shelf products. and not a lot of effects, just a couple like a Convulution Reverb and a nice Delay. keep up the good work Spectrasonics.. . Eric is a true synth programming legend. Great stuff!!! Dumb question...with demand for a "soft" D50 growing, why doesn't Spectrasonics release a set of D50 "like" patches that match the original 128 on the D50? I mean Eric owns the rights to those 128 sounds and he is an ace programmer. Or is it more complicated that this?

Since it costs a lot it’s taken me quite a while to get around to upgrading from version 1 to Omnisphere 2. It’s a unique, amazing synthesiser and sound processor but still a tricky interface to navigate. I am personally not a fan of hidden detail and I find I still waste time in Omnisphere 2 trying to find feature x on menu or screen y. It’s a unique tool and I don’t regret my investment but you can see in their demos they are very proud of the accessibility of the patch/multi browser however I find myself just wanting a bit more similarly visible navigation elsewhere in the software. There’s nothing else like it for my theatre and ambient projects and I’m pleased I can just about afford it - it’s worth the money. edit: corrected typo “of” to “a”
@mrbrianparker6 жыл бұрын
It must be bad form to self-reply too often but I’ve just thought of one of my specific problems. Needing to click on tiny little horizontal lit up bars beneath a button to switch something off or on. They’re difficult to see and also to click. How about a “fat theme” with more visible, expanded lights as at least an interim solution? Omnisphere seems to have an oval look, making these bars as such would fit the current style and make them more visible.

If they can build on the import of samples mode and bring in Time stretching and pitch shifting and a waveform editor that can chop and arrange the slices across the keyboard with layering and per key modulation/filter/LFO then i am sure it will appeal to an even wider audience
