I loved this video! I play the trombone and I’m looking into some orchestral opportunities and was worried about reading tenor clef, this really helped explain the concept.

I'm gonna keep coming back to this, I'm currently a junior in high school and I'm in the orchestra pit for Matilda. I don't know how to read tenor so this is helping me. The first note I have to play is a high G translated to a High High Db.

High G can be also played in 4th position for those who struggle with alternate 2nd.

I personally have a really bad way of reading it but it kinda works. I play a lot with Bb instruments like trumpet or tenor sax so I just read tenor clef like it’s treble clef for a Bb instrument. Like the tenor clef F looks like a trumpet’s G, which is still concert F. All did my directors are so confused as to how I can read tenor clef so “well” (I use the term loosely because I’m the only trombone who can read tenor clef)

Thank you so much! This really helped me for a solo I am trying to learn that has tenor clef. This video clarified the placement of where the notes lie.

Since I play trumpet and trombone, it's just like me reading my trumpet music on the trombone

if you can read transposed treble clef then it's the same but you ignore two flats.
