Great intro to the trip. Nice to hear a bit about the planning that goes into an adventure like this.

Best wishes for you both. Nice to find a resupply solution. She'll " mule it in".She's one in a million, take care of her. You both should see some terrific sights, perhaps even a condor itself ????? Can't wait to read your book....

OMG how did I miss this? Being from Santa Barbara I've been fascinated with this trail but it's so rough! And we think the TST is tough LOL. You are truly a masochist!

Looks like a GREAT, if challenging, hike. And having Taters as your logistical support is outstanding. Nothing like a support staff! Hike on!

All I can say is Wow. What an amazing adventure this will be! Here's to hoping water won't be too much of a problem.

FYI everyone, I saw Matt this weekend. So far he’s at mile 133, and been through bushwhacking, ticks, river wading, beautiful canyons, and a snowstorm! This trail is truly wilderness so no cell service so far. He will probably be taking a zero day in SLO in a few more days and will have a big backlog of vlogs to upload from the hotel :)

409 miles? How many cans of peaches did the taters pack this time?

Considering the lack of opportunities for regular food on this trip Taters has a huge responsibility providing good food + wine on weekends

@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes I was just thinking that for the weight of one can of peaches you could have had about 200 servings of instant coffee.

When in the Santa Barbara area, feel free to contact me (Taters too). Will help however I can. Sent you my number thru Patreon. I don’t check email. Met Brian Sarvis this morning. Cool guy.
