Hi, thanks for the demonstration. I just got a 7900 and have been having banding on my prints from the first day. It has not been even 2 weeks and so far Epson has not solved the problem. The banding lines are horizontal and dark, which suggests that these are being cause by overlapping head passes. The media I am using is the Epson paper that came with the printer, so I am supposing that since I am using the original profile for this media, there should not be a problem with paper feed adjustment (?). Have you had any banding problems with this printer and do you have a tutorial to help with this problem? I have found tones of complaints on the internet regarding banding with this printer series, and also complaints about Epson's terrible customer support. Any help you can give would be much appreciated. Many thanks!

The worst printers ever made by Epson, they tried to catch up the speed of competition and developed the worst printhead so far. Even using only genuine ink the printhead fails. I have spent thousands just to realize that their resin treated ink is the cause of all troubles. Without resin treated ink the printer works fine. Indeed there is a lot of methamerism on the final print but with some surfactants and more money spent on experiments will be fine with good stability and absolutely no banding even if the printer will not work for months. Final conclusion, stay away if you do not understand basic chemistry, and have no time for research !!! Epson HDR inks will finally cause the printhead to fail.

Juan Carlos Villasuso Epson PRO 7800/9800, the previous models based on DX5 printhead. They still the best !
