Dear Ron, in your review I would like, if possible, that you compared this amplifier with the PM-12 SE and PM-KI Ruby. They all seem to be sharing the same design choices and even the specs seem the same. Apart from the looks, what does really differentiates those three amplifiers? And also their prices are more or less in line (slightly above 3K$ or 3K€)

A "refreshed" look doesn't equate to a "better" look. Just have Marantz bring back a product that looks like a Marantz 2600 receiver, with the same build quality - brushed aluminum faceplate, chrome knobs, flywheel tuning, etc., charge the current market price, and I'll be right over to buy one!

all of the things mentioned about sound quality are true about this amp . the only thing missing in the sound stage is 'depth' and or immersion of the listener. The sound stage is typical in that it is presented as a wall of sound in front of you . the other thing i don't like is there is little fullness at low volume which is how i like to play classical music . with rock/pop it doesn't matter because no one plays that style of music at low volume 😂

Seems like if they wanted to "reach into their past" they would have done something in the way of adding blue light illumination rather prominently on the front fascia, don't you think? That's the look that gave Marantz it's iconic, easily recognizable distinction!

@@Newrecordday2013 I guess it depends upon how far into their past Marantz was reaching? Also, I suppose this sort of depends upon one's age? I'm 58, so when I think of bygone-era Marantz, I think 1970s.
