Are Cannondale Monterra Neo 1 or the Moterra LT 1 any good? I'm just thinking 150mm travel is sufficient ? Thanks

I'm not on the slack ha band wagon; I like the technical climb as much as the descent. Is there any reason not to have a steep seat angle though? Thanks for the review.

The seat angle affects weight distribution, at least while seated. Getting the weight forwards is better when doing steep climbs. A steep STA can provide an efficient pedaling position. But going too steep can increase stress on the knees. The knee angle with the pedal at 12 o clock becomes very sharp. I enjoy riding technical trails, and I often drop the saddle a bit, so I won't be too far above the ground when I need to step off the bike. Having a really steep seat tube and riding with a low saddle will put even more stress on the knees. A slacker STA puts the rider further back in relation to the cranks, making the angle of the knee less sharp. At the expense of climbing ability.

@@EMTBVideos Ahh, thankyou for the detailed answer Knut. It was a mystery to me why so many bikes still do not have steep sta and I couldn't understand why.
