First thing I did to my Speedgoat when I got it a year plus ago was glue some G10 scales on and shape it to my grip. Been very happy since.

It’s a matter of personal preference - the Speedgoat with its more pronounced tip and less belly in shape lends itself well to birds and waterfowl, along with general everyday use 🇺🇸

I have unexpectedly develop a collection of MKC knives. I love them all. I’m looking forward to the newest tactical drip as the WarGoat is currently my favorite!

I have received my speedgoat ultra and it is a fine knife. The one gripe I have is the finish. The level of finish may be fine for the Paracord wrapped versions, but not a solid handle. On the top and bottom exposed portions of the handle as well as the back of the blade remain unfinished waterjet cutting marks, however the butt of the handle is finished nice and shiny. I guess I'm spoiled, but I would have expected a little more finish for a +$300.00 knife.

Well, I was wanting a Speedgoat 2.0 for the guard (have 2 of original Speedgoat), so this is an interesting variation. Is the tang the same so a person could switch it over to paracord if they wanted, or more locked into the scales?

It helps to cut down on weight and makes it easier to sharpen than most other stainless steels! We chose Magnacut for edge retention, sharpenability and toughness
