Man, Nobles fixing all the things that made us buy all the ORD-clones! So good. Looking forward to buying some more ODR’s 🎉🎉

I just placed my order for the mini 2. Hopefully it ships in the next couple of weeks. Thanks again for the in depth review!!!
@RichWordsMusic7 күн бұрын
Hope so! It's such a great pedal. (I've just been filming an in-depth video focusing on it so it's been my main drive this past week.) Apparently it hits stores in Europe next week, so not long to wait!
@natekincaid934217 күн бұрын
I really liked this a lot. I’ve owned the mini and am looking forward to the mini 2. I was surprised that even at full bass the mini 2 seemed to have less bass than the original mini. Thanks for putting in the work!!!
@RichWordsMusic12 күн бұрын
Thanks a lot! Yep, I noticed that too... the original mini really has a bunch of low end in it. I love that for a Tele but even then it can be a bit boomy at times. With humbuckers I find it quite hard to use though, and that's no longer an issue at all with the mini 2 :)

ODR mini2 sounds good! For my ears is the best!

It's an awesome pedal! I've just been recording a dedicated video for it (coming out next week) and it's super versatile too.

Great demo! The new ord-1x is supposed to have the same circuit as the gold anniversary but with the added boost and true bypass features…. Gonna have to pick up this new model for the boost even though I already have the gold 👍🏾
@RichWordsMusicАй бұрын
Yep, exactly! It does sound dead on and if you really want that Gain Boost the ODR-1X will be a must-have 😎
@Lamz..Ай бұрын
Nice comparison. I could happily live with any of them on my pedal board, they all sound great. I missed the bass cut on the mini 1 but that's nothing my EQ can't handle. Built-in it's more handy though when playing gigs.
@RichWordsMusicАй бұрын
Cheers my friend! Yeah, the Mini 2 is kind of where I'm leaning at the moment, because the Bass Cut knob is easiest to dial in, plus there's the size/price factor. I love the Gain Boost on the ODR-1X but I have other boosts/drives that I can stack with the Mini to achieve that as well. Decisions decisions... 😉 because you also can't ignore the fact that the original Mini at €50 is an absolute steal too!

I bought the normal ODR-1 back when the only alternative was the standard ODR1-mini. I wanted the bass cut switch, however, the effect is so small that I never even could hearwhich way it was set. This video seems to confirm that. On my speakers with the telecaster I don't hear any difference at all. That said, the bass cut knob really is a good addition.
@RichWordsMusicАй бұрын
Interesting. I think the difference is more noticeable with humbuckers, and also more so in person when you're playing through a speaker in the room. Hope you get to try one of the newer ones for yourself soon and see if they can convince you! Cheers for watching 😊

The new mini with the bass cut is a great update. How would you say it compares to a bluesbreaker?
@RichWordsMusic7 күн бұрын
Yes, it's incredible. I've just finished filming my dedicated video on that to release next week. It is close to a Bluesbreaker in a way, but they break up a little differently the more you dime then. They stack together marvelously!
@steventhomas2317 күн бұрын
@RichWordsMusic oh great. I will watch that one next week. Cheers Rich.

If I'm using this with a bass, would the original Mini be preferable to the Mini2?
@RichWordsMusic8 күн бұрын
Well with the original ODR-mini you'll have all the low end all the time - which might be ideal for bass ;) But, if you do want the option to thin out the sound ever, the the ODR-mini 2 is the way to go. The Bass Cut knob I find to be incredibly practical on guitar, and I'm sure you'll appreciate the extra versatility with the bass too. The new one is not that much more money either! Both are well under €99 over here in Europe...
@RobinHisgenАй бұрын
Funny, I kinda knew of these pedals (kinda being the keyword), but only started looking at them a couple of days ago when I saw the mini pedal at €50. I also saw the ODR-1X and mini2 when looking up the pedal, but didn't realise they were new (they seem to be available for sale already, by the way). Funny to find out now that they just released those 2 this month, exactly when I started looking at them. Although your video was very useful, I'm still not sure if I should get the original mini for €50,, the mini2 for €80, or just wait and get the ODR-1X eventually. I feel like with the current offerings, you're best off with either a mini/mini2 or 1x; the original especially seems to be pretty redundant (at least for most use cases), with the mini2 having the better bass cut.
@RichWordsMusicАй бұрын
Ha ha, good timing on your part anyway! And yeah, it's a good question. For me, if I was buying one and it was going to be my first Nobels, I'd be between the two new ones - the ODR-1X and the Mini 2. To be honest, the Mini 2 actually has a bass cut knob that's easier to control, and with the smaller footprint (and price!) I'd lean towards that... unless you want the Gain Boost option or True Bypass. Then it's got to be the ODR-1X. That said, if you've got €50 in your pocket, the original Mini is amazing for that!
@RobinHisgen25 күн бұрын
@@RichWordsMusic You're totally right on the 2 new ones. For now, I've held off on it; came across another pedal that I could get for a decent price (MXR FOD, €136 brand-new), so that took out the remaining budget I had 😂 The ODR-Mini2 only seemed to be pre-orders anyway, so I'll just wait a bit longer for that one.
@michaelogden5093Ай бұрын
Answers all my questions... does it have a replaceable power switch? I had a ODR but the power switch crapped out on a virtually new pedal. Couldn't find a replacement switch.
@RichWordsMusicАй бұрын
Thanks! Hmm, about the power switch I'm not sure - hopefully the Nobels team are reading this and can provide an answer. I'll try and remember to ask them next time I speak to them too, but often going direct to the maker is the only way with things like this.

Mini 1 or 2 for bass?
@RichWordsMusic9 күн бұрын
Ooh, I'd go with the Mini 2! Just for the added Bass Cut knob... you never know when that might come in handy! Otherwise they're pretty much identical.
@everope3 күн бұрын
Is it just me, or does the ODR-mini just sound more raspy and less transparent?
@RichWordsMusic3 күн бұрын
I agree, it does... it's boomier too, with the most low end out of all of them. The ODR-mini 2 rectifies all this very well, I think!
