Introducing the OpenIPC 40MHz Mode

This is what we’ve been all waiting for to boost the OpenIPC system!
We can now double the video bitrate!🤩
The 40MHz mode is now available for all!
Just download the latest configurator and click the button in the Telemetry tab to enable it. Then set the bandwidth to 40.

FPV Camera used:
OpenIPC Optimus AIO with the OpenIPC Mario camera and ASUS AC56 WiFi external transmitter.
The whole setup is identical to the OpenIPC Mario AIO.
Ground Station used:
Radxa Zero 3w 1GB no eMMC (£15) running SBC Groundstation 1.7 version
Triple feed 9.4DBi patch antenna on Alfa AWUS036ach rtl8812au module.

Merry Christmas mario !!! , may I ask how you managed to make the OSD to be so sharp ? , all my OSD's are grainy for lack of a better word. Also the 40Mhz mode seems very nice shame it only works on a limited number of wifi modules so far - I suspect 40Mhz + adaptive bitrate link working well will be cruicial in the coming months to increase performance of the link . I will say some of those stutters were very scary a pilot like me would have crashed very easily , you have some nerves of steel mario !!.

@@mariofpv when you were flying with the 40MHz mode , did your GS only have 1 wifi module or had you upgraded to using multiple ? , I recall you saying that at higher bitrates you really need the extra wifi modules to keep the consistency of the video link

Hi, what is the best kit to buy for having an image similar to Dji for example with at least 40MHz.I am new to this and i would like to have a good start. The Sony IMX415 sensor seems nice as well.

SSC338Q with imx335 will give you great results. You’ll have the 1080p 120fps mode available. Cheers mate!😊🍻

@@mariofpv It is hard to find any hardware. You recomended the SSC338Q and on the list of supported hardware there are a lot of SigmaStar boards listed, but it seems none of them can be bought anywere. Also I cant finde a guide to choose the right hardware anywere :(

@@mariofpv Yes, thing system is really good, but rockchip device for vrx still the best in term of latency, metaquest is good but feel laggy compare to the radxa. If you want my opinion, radxa developpement is more important for fpv communoty. I was wrong that saying android is better than radxa. sorry but don't stop the android dev,

I am a bit confused, I thought 40 MHz was already possible with wfb-ng which OpenIPC uses. Did OpenIPC needed some work for it to work? Why wasn't it supported before?

You thought wrong. OpenIPC supported 20MHz only until today. We now have 40MHz available running directly on the OpenIPC camera. Cheers mate!😊🍻

@rickym7380 Due to me besides operating my dance studio working in the software industry, I could not spend much time on developing and testing flying machines during the recent two years. Depending on your level of information, you might already know, that my dual OMPHobby M1 is working fine as well as the dual OMP M2 and the dual Goblin Fireball. I moved them from INAV 2.6.1 to 6.1.1 and built a three-bladed dual Fireball, which also works fine including LIDAR + OpFlow. During the holidays I managed to build another variable pitch quadcopter with 24“ front and 12.6“ tail rotors. I will try to make a maiden flight before 2025.
