We use our Rodecaster as a broadcast console for a small college radio station, and run our analog audio devices (turntables, CD decks, and cassette deck) through a switcher device that utilizes the TRRS line... the lack of TRRS input (and lack of replacing it with any sort of RCA or stereo inputs) is kind of a bummer...Was looking for an excuse to upgrade, but this won't be an upgrade for our purposes.

Any chance of adding a couple more EQ bands and a Q setting - to surgically attenuate problem frequencies more specifically? That would be really useful in a live situation, and potentially a time saver in post if you use post-fade / post fx in the recordings

Rode: How does the RCP2 EIN of -131.5 dBv (a-weighted) compare to a dBu (a-weighted) EIN? I’m not up to speed on measuring EIN so not sure if it’s apples to apples or not. It sounds like it may be close…certainly sounds like the new preamps are even quieter than gen 1 which I was impressed with at the price point. Are the headphone preamps quieter?

Got mine on Saturday and IT IS AMAZING!!! I will be able to do away with three separate units because what they did is already integrated into the Rodecaster Pro 2. Just one question; how do I restore the factor voice effect presets. I accidentally erased the megaphone effect from the smart pad.

Hey Steve, glad to hear you're loving it! The only way to restore the default sounds is to perform a factory reset. Before you do this, we'd suggest saving your shows etc. to your external memory so that you don't have to spend time re-doing your settings.

I wish I could be able to midi map the record button to my DAW (ableton live) right I have it triggered to the smart pads to start ,stop and play also haven’t been able to multitrack on my DAW from the RCP2 but 16 different separate channels show up from the RCP2 on my DAW they are all sending the same signal

Cannot get the Rodecaster Pro ll to work with multichannels in Adobe Audition as I could with the first Rodecaster that had a mic option of Rodecaster Pro Multichannel to choose from. The option with the RCP ll is "Rodecaster Pro ll Main" but does not offer the individual mono channels in Adobe Audition. Is this normal?

I thought you'd be interested in my experience thus far with the RCP2. My company produces talk programming that airs in the top 10 US radio markets. I've been using the RCP1 since it came out. (first serial # in the low 1000s) I purchased my first RCP 2 unit about 2 weeks ago and have had to return because the larger 'volume knob' is not operating. It's clearly off its track and will hardly turn. The second unit I purchased arrived with several other issues in assembly. First, the touch screen monitor wasn't properly seeded in its housing. In fact, you could see the bright light from the 'back light' easily behind the screen. I carefully centered it and pressed on it and it seems to be back in place. A second issue was the metal behind the faders rubbing on the faders when they were adjusted. Again, after pressing down on the entire plate in several places, it seems to have snapped back into position. A third unit I purchased will be arriving tomorrow and I'll let you know what we experience with it. Based on my experiences with these 2 RCP-2 units, I'm concerned about the QC on this model. I need to purchase several more of these for air talent we work with and am nervous about the build quality and toughness. 'm actually considering a purchase of the older RCP 1 because it seems more robust. Don't get me wrong, I love the new features on the RCP2 but it just feels like it will break if you sneeze at it the wrong way. I'd pay another $100 to $200 per unit if you could beef up the materials and the quality of assembly. Thank you for considering my feedback. --Pete Thomson McQ Media--Dallas.

At this stage the USB ports are for connection to computers and mobile devices, however it is something we're looking at pushing out with future updates, so watch this space!

Ok seeing is I can't get anyone from Rode to get back to me in a timely fashion, I bought one of these from Sweetwater. The unit I got does not recognize hard drives at all. I bought an expensive SSD Drive with 1000MPS transfer rate and still nothing. To Sweetwater's Credit, they sent me another one. it has the SAME ISSUE. I have e-mailed Rode, I did get back an e-mail telling me to reset and reupdate the unit. I did. Nothing. I am pissed because this is exactly what I am looking for and it sounds ABSOLUTLY AMAZING!!! But if i can't record without a computer, it is useless to me. huge issue I have is that this unit does not come with a manual AT ALL!!! just the user guide on the website which is tough to use. This is not a start for this unit and a black mark on a great company.

@@rodemic yes, you guys did reach out to me. I replied with the hard drives I have. To update my issues, the unit does recognize an microsd card. So I am purchasing a large microsd so I can use the unit. To be absolutely fair, this thing sounds ridiculously good and only deepens my disappointment with the hard drive issue. Like getting a Corvette and finding out the gas door doesn't open. I do appreciate that new units have bugs but 2 units in a row is a little odd for Rode being a quality company. Anything you can do to rectify this issue would be great.

ok Audient just came out with a user interface too that just seems to have mind boggling tech itself, and it's only 499 depending what Rodecaster pro 2 does with it's price i think EVO might be an easy win for now.

The price is to high , i have the rode procaster Pro and there you missing two usb slots for external harddisks and you mis two to three channels to make it a Multi machine for radio makers so and now the Rode procaster Pro II and they have not listening to people how make allso radio programs, Not six channels but five and they ask for 8 channels and two usb connections , what must be with four microfoon chanels, this machine is only make for podcast or for makers of a juice channel and thats all they have by Rode not listening to people how working for radiostations or have a radiostation, the price is to high € 739,00 euro's in the Netherlands and there concurrent is the Tascam Mixcast 4 podcast recording console for a price of €505,- euro's and have eight channels and is cheaper and for 200 euro's more you have a D&R webstation so Rode must be lower the price around 649 euro's thats 80 euro's more than the first edition from the Rode Rode Caster Pro
