Lasts a year! And it is NOT rechargeable. But they do give a discount. So if you want a new one after it dies in a year, you can send it back to them for recycling and get a discount on your new ones.

This review is lacking with an obvious, glaring omission: the reviewer NEVER actually activates the Tile Mate to make it chime, nor does he activate the iPhone alert sound from the Tile Mate during the entire review. What's up with that??

Umm.. at 2:14 I activate the tile from my phone (though I do not record the audio of the tile). Then at 3:50 I activate the phone by clicking the button on the tile. Again, I don't record the audio, but its a chime sound. There isn't a lot to learn from the chime.
