Credit where credit is due. Behringer have a really spotty record with regards ethical business practices but this may win over many of the doubters. I was happy to contribute a towering $2 (even though the Synth is pants)

Now I managed to install and license it. In my DAW (Reason 12) it's buggy. As long as it has the Midi input from the keyboard (i.e. pressing a note down) the UI of the DAW freezes - animation from other plugins stop and no scrolling possible. It's only with VINTAGE, not with any other VSTs.

Presets sound great and all but, theres no way to initialize the synth to create your own sounds from scratch. This is a must! Let me know once that's updated.

I think initialized patches are a relatively new thing, not sure when they became common in today's analog synths, none of mine except for the Take 5 has it. You could always create a basic patch yourself as a starting point -- it's not as if patch memory is a constraint these days.

And I can appreciate a free synth especially if the sound is quality. But either way I'm a Behringer supporter and have the Poly D. I love that thing with no presets lol.

I know the Juno-106 has a manual button that creates a blank patch that you can use to create a patch then save it over one of the 128 presets saved in memory. And that synth was released in the early 80's. Oh sweet!!! I need to find that post. Thanks for sharing!!

@@ProdByThatGuyFace that's different, the Juno Manual button switches from a saved patch to whatever are the current parameter settings of the synth. The Take 5 has a similar feature, but also provides for a true initialized patch (single osc, wide open filter, no resonance, etc.).

No we are not. There are companies who have made DAWs for decades. I think I'll stick with one of those. It will take equal decades for Behringer to catch up, if they ever will. This whole thing with every company "building there own DAW", from Universal Audio to Behringer, is getting out of hand.

Also, at 2:10 it says that its available for AAX, but on Windows, there's no AAX in the installer. Only VST3 and stand-alone for Windows as of this post (4/28/24)

Probably not an instrument I would use personally but gave it a go mainly to test the 'issues' others have reported. Downloaded, installed & registered easily in 5 mins (Win10, VST3, Reaper). Unlikely to use it it my music production style but it seems to work fine and sound good - if I use it I'd be happy to donate.

Sounds fabulous, warm and analog, the hit even on a lousy CPU is negligible. The only minor gripe, there's unused black space in the GUI. Thx Behringer.
