We don't put worksheet in the classroom. Writing starts with metal inset and tracing sandpaper letters.

This is not Montessori. Montessori starts with tracing the sandpaper numbers/letters by hand first.

Did they practice writing before using the ditto sheets? I thought ditto sheets were not developmentally appropriate. The video title is confusing because it says an "Introduction" to writing.

I use this size of tracing at the start of the year as well as giant numbers that they trace with sensory materials. I found that a lot of low children are unable to form appropriate size and keep on writing giant letters without tracing this size. You need to move them on from giant tracing eventually and teach them to trace with normal size. This will help for the students who are still writing giant!
