Hello Mikhaela, Where are you taking a course where they are using my textbook? I am sorry that you are struggling. An introduction to neuroscience can be difficult. I have 30-40 minute screen-capture lectures that cover a lot of the material from each chapter on my youtube channel. Is there something that is particularly difficult for you or a topic. I might already have a video.

Hi. I am a first year psychology student and am really interested in Biopsychology. Where can I find a job that will expose me to the field as I pursue my degree?

Hi! Psychology PhD student here. I encourage you to get involved in undergraduate research in a psychology lab at your school. Look online at faculty in your department and reach out to those who have research that is of interest to you. More than likely they will be happy to allow you to work as a research assistant in their lab throughout your undergraduate career. This will be a great way to explore your interests and prepare for future work in the field :)

There are a few paths of master's degrees in biopsychology and experimental psychology. First, many who get their master's degree are thinking about going on to a Ph.D. in experimental psychology or neuroscience with hopes of getting a job as a professor at a college. Second, people who get master's degrees in experimental psychology tend to get a lot of experience collecting and evaluating data. Many of our master's students go on to get jobs in data analysis working for a nonprofit, school system, or a for-profit business. Third, there are applied programs in neuroscience such as rehabilitation counseling working with people who have had strokes or brain injury. With a master's degree, you are able to get jobs as lecturers and four-year colleges and tenure-track positions at community colleges (though these positions often go to people with Ph.D.s). I hope that helped.
