Great video. Speaking in context of programming language theory, C++ and C have different design goals. For the fear of being pedantic, C++ can't said to be a version of C.

The designer of C++ himself described C++ as "C with classes". His words, not mine. And this fact was correctly stated in this video. C++ has grown a lot but it's still conceptually a C language extension. I've been a C and C++ developer for 30 years. I very often use C++ as "C with classes". The huge codebase I work on is moslty C ported to C++, but with the old C style remaining. It's a mixture of C and C++ with C functions mixed with C++. Some of the C++ stuff like file streams is just plain awful. I often fall back to the C alternatives.
