Thank you, Mudassir. Question: When the measure slicer was used in the last segment of the video, the matrices did not seem to show the correct answers... would you have to set the relationship between TimeIntelligence table and Measure Select table for it to work properly?

This is the third explanation I see related to Calculation Groups. The first time I saw an explanation about Calculation Groups, it was scary. In addition to being a new concept, the uses of jargons add denser layer mantle on the subject. How I wish my first explanatory video had been yours! Excellent work. Thanks.

Thanks for this video on calculation group! It would be great if you explain how 2nd metrix is reading measure while changing measure name in slicer. Thanks again

actually when mudassir selected sales, the figures for current, pm, pq, mom don't seem to b correct i.e. they r all the same. i also can't get the slicer-measure selector & the corresponding 2nd matrix to work. hope that can b explained again...
@mudassirsyedrashidali97873 жыл бұрын
@@nikahafiz1 In Tabular Editor, when creating slicer-measure selector, try writing the measure i.e. [Total Sales] , [Total Cost & [Total Margin] and it will filter the results you are looking for. I used the whole expression as in my next videos I will be explaining when to hard code the measure, expressions and SelectedMeasure(). Hope it helps!!

Thank you for the explaination, when I am trying the same, I am getting same values for MTD, QTD, YTD etc., Do you know how to resolve it? Or if you have some videos on it could you please point me that?
@EnterpriseDNA Жыл бұрын
Hi @khyativyas8004, The reason why the results could be the same is because you might not have provided date context on your reporting page. Time Intelligence calculations require a date context on a reporting page either within the visual or outside of it, in the form of date slicers/filters. In the given video, if you observe carefully, our expert has provided a context onto the reporting page in the form of a date slicer and therefore, it's calculating the results differently for different metrics. If there's no date field either directly within that visual or onto the report page in the form of slicers or filters then in that case, previous period results will be evaluated the same as current periods due to the absence of date context. Put/give a date context to your visual and you'll see the results getting evaluated properly as expected. For further queries, you can also reach out to us at our Community Forum by providing a detailed description of your query along with relevant files for reference. @@EnterpriseDNA Thank you for the reply. Appreciate you taking time out to address the queries here... I tried using Date context too but it doesn't work. In the video above , Mudassir too gets same results for current, PM, PQ, MoM for each month across the table. I am not able to post the snip shot of it but if you forward the video and pause at 13:11, you will be able to see what I mean.

Hi, Thanks for the wonderful video and precise explanation. I have this doubt if the calculation groups will work with a model where RLS is implemented?
@EnterpriseDNA2 жыл бұрын
Hi Deepak, Thank you for posting your query onto our channel. We really appreciate you taking your valuable time to post it. Well, calculation groups doesn't work in the case of "Row Level Security". Below is the documentation from the Microsoft provided for the reference. But we came across one of the used case as well where calculation groups worked with the RLS. We're providing a link of that blog post for the reference. So we guess that, it also depends on the scenario or use-case as well. I am using this calculation group. this is very helpful. I am facing a problem when i export it from power bi service. the problem is - I see the measures like CY,PY,YoY,YoY% CY reach% to PY in columns in the visuals, but when i export this to an excel then these measures are not exported as columns but they are turned into rows and also changes the number formats from %s to numbers. Can you please let me know if you have a solution for this?
@EnterpriseDNA3 жыл бұрын
Hello NS Venkatesh, thank you for posting your query onto our channel. Well, whenever you export the data from a visual to the CSV file firstly it'll convert everything to the rows format and it also losses the formatting when exported. There's nothing can be done much about in this type of scenario since there's no significant development in this aspect so far by the Microsoft team. For furthermore queries, you can also reach out to us onto our Community Forum where our members as well as experts team will be able to assist you in a better and efficient manner.
