We're really living in a golden age of Canlander content, this is just so excellent and highly detailed. Out of interest was it a deliberate choice to lean mostly on Modern, Legacy and Vintage as key points of comparison and not mention other Highlander formats like Cedh, 7PH, European Highlander, French Commander etc? A lot of the 'unique decks' of canlander also exist in those formats tbf

This video was sort of meant as a transition video for players coming from other 1v1 competitive format backgrounds, and Modern, Legacy, and Vintage are the primary 1v1 competitive formats from which to draw comparisons. I think the majority of archetypes that exist in Canlander have roots in these formats and that those formats have the appropriate power level to show similarities as well as differences, which is why I focused on them. I'm also more aware of what is being played in those formats as that is the type of content that I consume myself. Pioneer and Standard are simply too low of a power level to draw relevant comparisons, in my opinion. I have no experience with 7PH or European Highlander. It makes sense to me that other singleton formats would share similar deckbuilding philosophies and brews, but I don't have any personal knowledge to draw on to give comparisons. I was an avid cEDH player for a couple of years and think the formats are pretty wildly different (in large part due to the multiplayer nature of the format and the format being many times faster than Canlander), but I will admit to being out of touch with contemporary cEDH lists. Canlander is very much a format about 1v1 Magic fundamentals, and many of the Commander variants throw those fundamentals out the window.

@@Cyclopes8Highlander Thats very fair, I highly recommend having a look at both eurolander and especially 7ph if you're going to continue to deep dive into highlander theory. The 7ph podcast is a great source of competitive highlander content that we can lack in this format (Which you are definitely helping with)

This is insane! Great work. Might be better to break this into mult videos (overview, then each type aggro, blue, etc and a summary video) which are in a Playlist to get better views and feedback, watch time, etc. BUT, I'm supremely impressed!
