Lay is inactive in EXO is not because of political conflict actually. It's just because of his busy schedule in China. He is still shooting several variety shows at 1 time and opening lives on Weibo with his cat, and promoting his songs in his albums. Especially during the COVID, it's really hard for artists to travel to other countries, as they would need 14 days to stay in either hotels or homes to quarantine. Also, Lay just opened his own entertainment company last year, called chromosome, this company also held several trainee auditions in China. By the way, Lee So Man shot a video to congratulate him.

Xiumin has already finished his military enlistment. So as D.O. Currently, SUHO, CHEN, CHANYEOL AND BAEKHYUN are serving. As for Lay, he joined the 2018 comeback which is DMUMT. Though, it is more like a cameo. He was inactive since 2017, during the The War era. He is focused currently in China, with all his acting, endorsement and music work. Also, with the THAAD, it makes him quite impossible to return totally as he is also an Ambassador. However, he is included in the comeback this coming June 7. For enlistment, they are allowed to volunteer as long as they are in the age bracket of 18-28. Once you are 28, you have to enlist.

Do Kyungsoo is just incredible in every sense. He is one of the few vocalists who can make your heart flutter and cause a storm of emotions. He manages his deep voice and sweet timbre with such ease that the same part can sound completely different "starting very roughly and ending unrealistically gently". Pronunciation-wise you have most of the members down. Except Xiumin and Sehun. The 'xiu' in Xiumin is pronounced like 'shoe' The 'se' in Sehun is pronounced like 'se' in the word 'set' Anyway loved your reaction! Kyungsoo probably enlisted earlier even though he is one of the youngest members in exo because of the following reason: Kyungsoo is a very well known actor in Korea so he had a lot of movies schedueled that he was casted in. In order for his time schedule and the movies time schedule to work out, he had to enlist earlier. Kyungsoo came back in January and in January he was already casted in two new movies, aside from the movies he was already casted in prior the enlisting.

8:59 everyone in EXO enlisted right before their "deadline" (Xiumin (already discharged), Suho, and now Chanyeol and Baekhyun as well; Lay doesn't have to since he is Chinese), D.O. ist the only member who enlisted way before he had to because he is an actor (known as the best idol actor in the industry, you can't even call him an "idol actor" since he is just _that_ good) and it would have hurt his acting career if he'd enlisted next year (as he was supposed to), so it was purely a career-oriented decision because now he is discharged and can build his acting career further without any interruptions (he has acting offers piling up already)

i agree with you. baekhyun is one of the best vocalists out there. chen and d.o are just as good and many people consider chen the best among exo's main vocalists, but it comes all to preference at the end of the day, i think. my favorite vocalists in kpop are baekhyun, d.k(seventeen) and onew(shinee). :)

So D.O is a very popular actor as of right now so he went to the military early due to a movie he was going to be filming which was going to be in a few years (I think it got cancelled though I could be wrong) and he said that most actors get popular when they are 30 so he wanted to get it over with. After he got out he got offered to act in a new movie called Moon with a huge budget. He was the member that never told us he was the leaving for the military till he did and just sent a letter😂 but really it’s not too hard waiting we just have the 2 youngest members left to serve then it will be done. The rest are in the military (4 members, 2 get out next year) you should also check out their debut song Mama as well so you get to know their group concept.

for exo guides: there are several exo guides out there and i watched them all. so here it is: exo group guide by cesar oh: it is short and has basic info. if you are willing to go and watch individual guides for each member (each video is almost 30 minutes) it is a good guide to start. but you've already read those basic info on this video you've watched! but individual guides are so good if you have time for them. exo group guide by ninimad: this one is the best and the most fun and informative guide i've watched from exo. so fun. and it is one video including exo's history as a group. (how they started with 12 and ended up with 9) + a brief explanation of story line (so basic and simple info) + exo sub-units + complete explanation for each exo member (their career, different talents, personality, solo and sub-units) it is my fav guide. even if you don't want to make reaction video to it, i'm sure you will enjoy it watching by yourself off camera. The members do have to talk to the company about it, but it is ultimately their decision when it comes to enlisting. D.O enlisted early because he had an acting job that was going to take place during the time he would have been gone if he had waited so he decided to go early so he could come back and film it. Also, EXO weren't in the middle of doing anything huge (they were doing mostly solo projects) so he knew he wouldn't be missing too much.

Someone probably already mentioned it but the titles of the songs featured in the video are in written the top lefthand corner. Baekhyun is my favorite vocalist and EXO is my favorite group :) Both Baekhyun and Chanyeol are my biases of EXO but Chanyeol is my ult.
