Looking to do the same technique as Doug Lacy by next spring in a modified Earthship Biotecture style home...love the video, Ben! Thanks for posting! Your dad and I are pretty close to the same age - great to see him and you when you were young!

I really like the music! It explains "the WHOLE THING"! I'm in Reno, Nevada. My wife and I purchased a Hydraform Block Machine and then I found Doug Lacy...a blend of the two is the way to go for us. Great video, Ben Huttash!

+Chandramohan Music it's nice to hear from you. I am always amazed by the Indian Ferrocement that I find on KZbin.

Ferro cement was used too make liberty ships during the Second World War, improvements in cement made it easier for the average guy and many boats have been built and sunk, some still float. Proven technology.

Ferro-cement reminds exactly of a Wattle-Daub from the middle ages, with modern materials.

I'm planning to use ferrocement as my roof deck, and if i got enough budget i plan to extend another storey making it my second floor flooring. is it safe to use? your respond is greatly appreciated. thanks.
@BenHuttash9 жыл бұрын
+jawmix The only flat ferrocement roofs that I have seen had beams for support. The beams we use are hollow ferrocement rectangular boxes that we later poor full of reinforced concrete. Long story short I have never done or seen a ferrocement second story floor, we have done lots of multilevel houses but the one two story house we did had a framed second story floor. This doesn't mean you can't do though. I would say if you can build a rebar structure you can want on with out concrete it would most likely be stronger then you need once it covered with mud. When in doubt over engineer.

+Ben Huttash thank you so much. then ill just use ferrocement for my walls and two way slab for my flooring. id go the safer side.

reinforced concrete is the common technique in Brazil. Doesn't look much revolutionary.
@BenHuttash8 жыл бұрын
+Shopping Rb It turned not to be very revolutionary at least here in America nearly all new construction is wood framing with sheet rock walls.
