Please don't follow this video, it will let you down. If you want to use fortran 77 in Windows then install force 2.0 and if fortran 90 is required then use CodeBlocks with GNU Fortran compiler. Hope this will help you.

If your taking about the command, edit was a 16-bit application used for editing scripts and such in the era of MS-DOS, the operating system that Microsoft made before Windows. Windows was first built on top of DOS actually. However, when microsoft built newer, 64-bit versions of Windows, they gutted support for 16-bit applications. Alias, on your newer computer, Edit is no more! It was never ported to 64/32-bit from 16-bit! I don't believe there's any text based editors on Windows by default, but there's still a few options! Off the top of my head, I'd recommend nano! A small and simple text editor for beginners! Vim and Emacs are also good choices!

There are some few solutions in my point of view. 1) Try these commands in cmd.com 2) If same error occurs then put .for extension in your commands like For1 filename.for , pas2 , link filename.for 4) Try to reinstall Fortran 77 by extracting file again. 5) May be your computer is infected with virus. 3) if same error occurs then your computer's window is not compatible with .exe files . Then the only solution is to install a new window xp by using Oracle virtual machine. The video on this step will be uploaded soon that how to install xp in windows 7 by using Oracle virtual machine , As i have shown in this video that i am also running fortran in xp by using virtual box Machine in windows 10.
