In Ayurveda liquor is also used as medicine ,it is mentioned in charaka shamrita which written in 1000 years ago ,they are infused with ayurvedic herbs like aswagandha, alovera etc in ayurvedic terms it is called asavaarista Like draksharisha or drakshasava is used,it is similar to red wine
