Yes i agree - I also think RL is the most interesting field in AI. Currently trying to test relative reachability on some of the Gridworld environments to get a grasp of how to tackle side effects in RL. At first i wanted to use SafeLife for a dynamic environment but i could not get the wheel running 😅

Probably the most important and time consuming step, in my experience, in the 'machine learning steps' is feature engineering which it looks like you missed. You could argue this is covered in data cleaning or data selection (I wouldve though data selection would happen before cleaning as well, its a bit of a waste of time to clean data you're not going to use) but really it is its own step and in my experience by far the most important and time consuming. Another step you missed is the exploratory analysis of the data. Before you throw it into a model you need to understand what the data looks like, or else you'll end up with a model that you have no idea whether the result is valid.

You clean the data first so when you save it, it is clean right form the beginning and can be used easily on the next project, more so good coding implementation practice. a good place to learn that is coursera where it teaches you R programming and more.

It depends of the strategy, but it's a good idea to adjust your error tolerance when you try different settings, models, etc. Because the chance you get a false positive when you make multiples attempts increases. Sorry for the bad English, it's only my third language
