Very helpful as always. Will we be able to launch the app from the app container if the device is offline. I currently have an app that supports offline mode using the old method. The problem is that it works as long as the device is on the app screen, if the device goes offline, the user is not able to launch the app from the app container. Is this solving for it or is there a way around?

It works. First time have to launch the app while online. It installs the app locally and all I did was to pin the app home so it can be launched from its own icon.

Hi Reza, thank you for this video. I have managed to get an app working but the only columns that do not save are images and attachments. When i click to submit them they do not save on the record and therfore not in the dataverse table either. Is there a way for these? Many thanks.

Hi Reza - amazing video! Thanks for doing this. One of the issues I have with the offline functionality is that it doesn't work in a realistic perspective. I have field workers that would gather data and submit while offline, but at times it could be days or weeks once they are back online. Sometimes they don't remember to re-open the app so it syncs up the data. My question is, does this new functionality allows for the auto-sync once the device becomes online, without opening up the PowerApps Mobile App or the PowerApp form? Thank you!

Thsi needs the app to be online to sync data as data is stored on users device. Without them launching app again, there is no syncing. You could always send a weekly reminder to users to ensure they do launch the app.

I have a similar scenario where our teams can have no connectivity for 20+ hrs - Often time using their mobile devices for other activities (PowerApps in the background or even accidentally closed). When relaunching, sometimes application remains open, sometimes it's closed, and sometimes the PowerApps app itself crashes...

Hi Reza, Great video. I have one doubt, my Dataverse offline first canvas app is throwing an error, "The operation failed because you are offline. Reconnect and try again." Regardless of how the app is opened. (Online, offline, closed and re-opened). The app is not impacted though, working correctly. But this error message is confusing. I checked logs, and saw Isofflinebydefault was false. And InputRetrivalStrategy was remote. Is these functions causing the error? Any help?

That’s a good question. Something to try out. I think as long as power apps app is running on mobile. Then user can. If power apps app is closed and reopened then No.

But when i start the application on the mobile phone or PowerApp application from Microsoft store i got this error : Error when trying to retrieve data from the network powerapp offline When i remove the filter i didnt get this error message and record are display correctly. Hi Reza, Tried implementing this offline mode capability but something odd is happening i am not sure if I am missing some steps.. Made changes to mobile Offline profile instead of having all rows tried with the "custom" option and applied filter to bring all active records. Having this saved tried to run the app while having my internet on - its not displaying all records instead it displayed only active records. So just wanted to check if we make any changes to offline profile then its applicable for both online as well as offline?? Or its applicable only for offline..?? My understanding was - when internet is on we get all the records though we have filters provided in offline profile.. And these offline profile filter are purely applicable when internet is off.. Please correct me if I'm understanding is wrong or if I'm missing something

Hello Reza, i have a question. We uses Powerapps and i create a Powerapp in Solution. i connect my Sharepoint Database to the app and create a table from my sharepoint list in the solution. But i cant activate "can be switched offline" and "Track changes". 1. I want to First of all I want the user to save offline if he has no internet connection and has not yet transferred the data to the sharepoint list. 2. i want him to be able to retrieve the data from the sharepoint list and then work with it offline. Offline capability for SQL Azure/SQL Server data sources will be the real game changer for mobile apps. One of the biggest hesitancies I see to accepting PowerApps is the lack of the disconnected capability. Dataverse? Not that attractive.
