Introduction to Process Mapping

An introduction to the method of Process Mapping showing 2 formats: Flowcharts & Value Stream Maps. This simple tutorial will allow you to better understand process maps & simply draw them using MS Powerpoint. Flowcharts are a very powerful business tool that should be used by everybody in an organisation to understand their internal processes. It will enable you to highlight the issues and undertake actions for improvement.

Re your video under 7 Steps to Creating Process Maps- \ Step 4 where you list two options : 1. interviews (taking notes for small processes) 2. Using Post-Its (for larger projects). My finding under the Work-At-Home model is that team interviews at a process e-mapping platform are a good way to go. The caveat is to make sure the facilitator is able map as fast as the stakeholders say " . . . and then we do this". e-Mapping eliminates the need for transcribing. If your e-mapping platform includes a compiler, one click lets you roll out a process as a run-time template where users will receive dynamic background orchestration from your process map.

Very nice. I am trying to get my thoughts today on robot picking parts from inventory. What needs to be done and how does the robot receive it commands. Then execute is route to down the aisle for a particular location. It retrieves the package and delivers it to right work station for assembly or test.
