Hi. I have an Arturia BeatStep Pro and I want to be able to change the parameters of each drum sound (channel) independently. The DAW is Ableton. I managed to have each BeatStep drum pad activate one channel, but when I midi learn the sliders and knobs they change the sounds of all the channels. Any help? What am I missing?

@Reggmail
@Reggmail 4 жыл бұрын
@@soniccharge Thanks for the asking. I was comparing it to some of the features in the new Capt beats mixedinkey.com/captain-plugins/captain-beat/ Or the overpriced but nice Suger Bytes Sequencer - DrumComputer kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6vKlZ-GZqmqpKM 1. The ability to easily drop and drag into your DAW separate Midi and Audio. 2. The Resizing ability with a newer cosmetic look. 3. Ability to use as a stand-alone or in the DAW of your choice. 4. Able to install on an optional external drive after install with a lower price point. The reason being is that many producers and writers are not making a living and music is becoming more just a hobby because of music streaming, so investing in gear is at a minimum. In my opinion $50 -$60 USD would probably be sufficient for most. Question, If this happens How long would it take to release a new version of Mecrotonic? I will wait for your reply.
@brianmi40
@brianmi40 4 жыл бұрын
@@Reggmail 1. MIDI is already drag and drop. To capture the audio, simply record the drum loop or pattern as desired into a 2,4,8, 16, etc. clip and copy as desired to length. Less than a minute in most cases. 2. Agreed, it's 2020 and ALL APPS in the planet should be using Vector Graphics with 4K monitors now, and 8K coming: #NoMoreBitmappedGraphics 3. Lots of FREE VST host programs that will make it into a stand-alone essentially for free. hiphopmakers.com/best-free-vst-host-applications 4. Huh? Already installs anywhere you want, or even just MOVE the .dll to any desired VST directory. I run ALL from external 1TB SSD on USB 3.0 - faster than an internal HD drive, no sweat. Where you move Patternarium files to load from, will be default save location, so can be anywhere also. Not sure what drive location has to do with price point. You own it already and to me, it's a fair price for what it does. Which TODAY is much larger than many realize: Simply get a tool like Atlas or XO (both build intelligent libraries of drums from ANY one shot samples on your HD from places like Splice, Looperman (FREE), and any one shot drum libraries like LOOPMASTERS, SOUNDS, PRIMELOOPS, etc.) and will then create ENDLESS RANDOM DRUM KITS intelligently, even letting you LOCK in drum sounds, and randomize the rest until you get a new kit JUST RIGHT. Then alternatively you can LIFT DRUM SOUNDS out of any LOOP with tools like Geist 2, Regroover Pro, etc. to build KITS FROM also. This then means that since Microtonic can directly output MIDI, that Patternarium will provide an ENDLESS supply of modifiable DRUM GROOVES, sent directly into an ENDLESS SUPPLY OF DRUM KITS. Add something like JAMSTIX in to the mix, and you've got intelligent MIDI driven drum fills for a lifetime. At $99, having Patternarium behind it for ENDLESS GROOVES, and tools like Atlas or Geist2 on the receiving end makes Microtonic a STEAL of a deal. Captain Beats is a decent product, and every product can lead a person to new results. However, a tool like ATLAS lets you leverage the same drum samples as Captain Beats, but adds AI to intelligently determine what TYPE they are, and AI to randomly build endless DRUM KITS, something you have to do MANUALLY in Captain Beats. Sure, Captain Beats has a decent selection of patterns, but that doesn't mean it comes even CLOSE to what the Patternarium is offering you for FREE.
@Reggmail
@Reggmail 4 жыл бұрын
@@brianmi40thanks for the info and reply. I did see the drop and drag midi but you would still need to record the audio or record the audio from Microtronic to tracks. Standalone and resizing in 2020 is a must in most cases especially for 4k and above monitors. Standalone - you may not want to always open up a Daw when just creating beats. Although Microtonic is great, this video was created in 2012, I'm sure after 8 years it's well overdue for an overhaul and upgrade that would make it fantastic. Again thank you B miller.

Oddly I only have a couple of important plugins that require an iLok. What I don't like is if it breaks (which it has done), they charge you a license restore fee plus if you're out of warranty they charge you for a new iLok. On top of that even if you're lucky as I was and are able to retrieve your licenses before your iLok dies completely AND its under warranty they still charge you for the exchange process. I'm ok with things costing money obviously. I'm NOT ok with a company that charges you for zero downtime, does not have a phone number, no way to contact anyone before opening a ticket and then is entirely inflexible with their policies. If my iLok breaks again, I will sell or stop using the plugins that require the iLok for something else. Fortunately for me. I use Digital Performer so I don't run into many iLok required plugins. I do have two Steinberg VSL keys. Not sure what their policies are. Just hope they're better.
