"Generally speaking. circuit breakers don't have to be listed". 25:56 I had never heard that. I check for a listing label frequently, even stuff sold on Amazon.

Surprising, isn't it?

Transformers are commonly sold as "reconditioned", even though they might still be functional. The reason being, is a site might upgrade the KVA of their service transformer because they are increasing the rating of the service. The old transformer, even though it still works, gets recycled for the second hand market. A transformer reconditioning company will restore it to the quality where it can be resold.

Makes sense. Nobody's going to recondition my plug tester...

Have purchased a dozen or more used dry transformers and a few 575 to 480 volt buck boost transformers over the years for customers trying to save some money.

@@6789uiop But they will recondition a 120 tester used in hospitals to check for correct wiring and tension on ground pin. Cost 5 grand years ago and never got a year out of it before sending back for repair. Could down load results to a computer.

Thank you for the video. As I understand, there was a very significant change pertaining to surge protection. While not stated in article 242, article 230.67 requires all new dwelling service panels to have an integral or added surge protection device.

I see you addressed this in the 230 changes video.

Thanks for the info especially with the code making process( Interesting) It would be nice to see how many get payoff's and how many insurance companies are involved . I mean if the ( like ARC faults ) didnt pass twice then someone else stands up and says they want it and it passes- that would throw up a redflag to me. it would be interesting to see of those who push a code change after it was voted down - to see who that person is and do a financial back-ground check afterwards or find where that person works. Why do I say this - because the average WORKING person cant afford to take off work and go to code meeting for free and push an idea that was voted down 2-3 times - somebody - somewhere got something

The few people I know who have attended did not and would not get paid, other than the city they work for paying their general wage and travel expense. But I really hear ya, I always want to follow the money. And electricians really are excluded by economic realities of having to work- agree 100%.
