Introduction to the Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE) - Amgen Science

The Amgen Biotech Experience is an innovative lab based program that allows teachers to bring Biotech into the classroom. By working with teachers to give them the tools needed and instruction, students learn both lab techniques and practice many key skills.

Students in ABE are exposed to 6 different labs within the course included the tools of genetic engineering, gaining familiarity with plasmids and restriction enzymes, DNA ligases, protein production, the process of bacterial transformation, and isolating and obtaining specific proteins.
