If you are considering visiting the Smith home in Pa, DO NOT look for Harmony. If you do you will end up near Pittsburg. Look instead for Susquehanna depot Pa. Oakland township. There is also a Susquehanna city that is NOT where you want to go. There is a wonderful visitors center, the Hale home (reconstructed), Smith home (reconstructed) and the burial site of the Smith baby.

Wow! Everything was so amazing! I wish my mind could hold everything I have learned. I am with Mary Whitmer... if you can skip rocks you can chop some wood. Sometimes the people who prop up our bishops, stake presidents, general authorities have more work and even more responsibilities, so that the work can go on. it is alright to take a break or get visited by an angel to get yourself renewed. Giggle! Go Mary!

This was so inspiring for me. Yet, I have so many questions. I thought the 116 pages were translated first, which is the known or thought of as the Book of Lehi. So, would that have happened before Mosiah?

Yes, Joseph translates 1 and 2 Nephi AFTER he has translated Ether and Moroni.

I do not believe The Book of Mormon because of “evidence”. I believe it because of the power of the Holy Ghost which assurance is irrefutable.
@mikewood3557 Жыл бұрын
Very true. But the Lord has also provided evidences that support the reality of the book. I so very much admire the early saints who withstood the persecution and violence based on their spiritual testimony, as you say, with none of the scholarly support that we have today. I love the evidences but not because they teach me that it is true, but more in the vein of “See, I told you so”. Perhaps more importantly, the evidences can bolster the faith of those who believe but still are weak or uncertain. With time, the sure and certain conviction and conversion can come.
@dowwilson8813 Жыл бұрын
lynne here: you're of course absolutely right. the only real testimony comes from the spirit and the process outlined in Moroni. It is wonderful that God has given us such a gift as the Book of Mormon. There's nothing like it. It will bear up in matters of spirit, heart and mind! The ultimate evidence!

PS: There is no such language as "reformed Egyptian". It's all a big lie. I'm so sorry, but that is the truth. Because of this, Christopher Nemelka is trying his best to start his own version of the "Sealed Portion" because they are all great and talented works of fiction. A marvellous work and a wonder indeed! Writing scripture for itching ears '
