Intros Reworked! in Patch 5.0

I really love this effort they make with seemingly less "important" stuff. The longevity of this game doesn't come from 6 new LL per year being shiny enough. It comes from ALL the factions getting some constant support, which eventually makes you want to come back to many of them.

It would be more commendable if they have done these kinds of things from the start. WH1 and 2 had small changes like this every update, but aside from immortal empires and the darklands upgrade WH3 has been lacking in this regard. CA shouldn't be praised for going back to their old standard. That being said, it is nice to see and I'm excited for this update.

@@darthtom100 This isn't the first time they do this in the cycle of Warhammer 3. Karl Franz, Gelt and Manfred, to only name a few, already have updated intro videos.

@@darthtom100 Yeah they did some mistakes with TWW3, but to be honest, I still think we must encourage them to continue to stay to their old standard.

@@darthtom100 I understand not wanting to applaud them for doing the bare minimum, but I do think it's important that we voice our pleasure of them doing it at the very least so that they can know that we appreciate it, and therefor have a higher incentive to continue the behavior in the future

Ay wulfrik has an almost entirely new intro vid. First it was him being surrounded by his wolves and him pulling the sword out of a giant. Now it is him pulling his sword out of the giant and seeing his whole army including marauders a mammoth and a chaos frost dragon marching up behind him! Sick!

I like this but I really wish they would add the fly over intros for each campaign pointing out nearby enemies, allies and points of interest. WH2 had these for each campaign and Immortal Empires just dropping into the campaign has always felt jenky and unpolished.

Throgg has finally been noticed by CA, as someone who only ever plays throgg campaigns i hope they do something more with him (his lord effects are pathetic AND the attrition one only keeps in mind wh1 attritions meaning all of the new attrition in wh3 that matters is not included in his list)

Oh hey, that's really neat to see! Sure, it's a minor detail, but the older intros really did stick out like a sore thumb. A couple of the older lords in particular could really use a once-over in general I think, if not gameplaywise, then at least aesthetically - looking at Grimgor in particular.

Has anyone gone over the changes for the empire tech tree, buildings and the elector titles? I know there are some small changes like state troop upkeep going from 5 to 3%. Everyone just glances over them in favor of the new mechanics. I think having more detailed looks would be nice.

I'm still annoyed that the intros are played over and over in a loop instead of playing once. It's the same with animations in lord/hero screens. Don't understand why it's a thing, it doesn't look good at all.
