You can't have one. They're social animals, so you need a few. Wait, no, that's no right. All joking aside, I think you have to check with your state laws about owning endangered exotic species without any certification.

They need a ton of special care and are a huge commitment,way more so than a cat or a dog,or even a bird. They can make good pets if you know what your doing,honestly marmosets are the only primate that would be a good pet.

Some states it’s totally fine, no permit needed even. Some other states are fine as long they a breeder certification for the breeding animals proving they were from active breed stock. It is always best to buy from the more highly respected companies.

My husband said I can get 2 marmosets in the spring,I was a monkey mom to a Rhesus Macaque named Jesse, I had to give him to a friend when I moved here to Missouri, Macaques are illegal in Missouri, marmosets ARE legal I just need to find a vet that takes care of primates.when I had Jesse his vet was 2 1/2 hours one way from us

What do they mean illegal pet trade the marmosets are legal to own as a pet. You can buy as many as you want they actually want people to own more than one cause their social animals
