You know them two anglers that stuffed weights in the walleyes got off with just a slap on the wrists. If it were me being the judge in court, I would ban them two for life for holding a fishing license forever. And I would fine them thousands of dollars for doing a stupid, outrageous thing. There are many anglers who are honest and trustworthy out there, it just takes one or two bad apples to spoil the whole barrel. That being said, moving forward, there needs to be stricter guidelines and rules for competitive fishing tournaments in general, such as metal detectors or maybe an on-sight X-RAY machine. I really don't blame the people who break protocol and stoup to a precarious level, instead, I blame our soceity in general for putting up with bad-behavior. Look at our politicians and our C.E.O.'s of major corporations who get caught. With one who gets caught, how many more are doing it that hasent Been caught. In our soceity there is a lack of accountability. That's my take on it. Tell me what you think.

Little did Mr Cheater know that an eagle eyed tugboat captain raised suspicion and video recorded it. The next move was like a Boss! He alerted the local conservation officer and the trap was set. The CO was able to obtain his own video evidence and the tugboat captain's. He was DQ'd, banned from future tournaments and is now facing legal action from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. As reported in the Chicago Sun Times. It's so heartbreaking & aggravating hear that there are people behaving like this. I am so happy to see you share how these men are addressing this issue this way. My parents sold outdoor sporting equipment, motorcycles, boats, campers, etc... We supported many different teams for racing & on land ^ water. Sport fishing was in its infancy back then. From events on our own teams, I know it was often the sponsors who caught their own team members cheating. In a sense we kept them honest by firing them publicly & demanding reimbursement for their equipment. Sadly, If even one person on a team is cheating, it destroys the whole team & the sponsors too. That not only hurts the other fishermen, racers and events, but it will quickly destroy the livelihoods of the people who are employed by them. Every part of a team becomes tainted & it is incredibly destructive to everyone around them.
