Great job on the video Coach Nick, I have been using the Slinger and I am not that impressed with the ball machine as the balls get stuck and the remote control needs to be replaced already and I have had the ball machine less than a month. But for the price I am not too mad at the ball machine. Great job on the video my friend.

My concern is ball machines and coaches feed you floaters and sitters and painfully easy 2.5 level balls. As soon as I crank up my Proton to throw a 4.0 level heavy ball everything goes to crap. Yea, I know… walk before you run. That heavy ball is unmasking technical deficiencies in my stroke. I agree. But there’s also TIMING. You groove this timing with the puffballs then you get into a match and nothing seems to generalize. Best thing I did was get a ball machine that can pitch a brutal heavy ball. It’s helped me tweak my timing and forced my footwork a bit.

I have a MSV ball machine (German brand) that has a lot more functionality, but also cost three times more than this one, and is much bigger and heavier. The Nis looks nice enough for that price.

Great instructions as usual👍. I have been using Slinger for years with Zero problems. If you have issues within 3 years they send you a new one, that’s a fact and they are prompt. Machines work only if you do the work too. I set it up to make me work on my footwork because you can get complacent and hit hundreds of balls😅. And someone has to pick them up🤣.

Very cool. I live in Singapore, a condominium, just concern the charging safety. There was E-bike explosion incident while charging. Any comment on safety perspective?

hmm $1000, how much better is the ball machine than having a hitting partner to give you the balls?

The point of a ball machine is that you don’t always have a partner to give you balls

Great video, my plan is to practice a lot with a machine once summer season starts. My question is, is there any "objective" way to measure the progress I made? In some video there was a coach that described something like that: his student has to hit 100 forehands that after bouncing off of the ground hits the fence behind court (without bouncing second time before it hits the fence). The coach said that those forehands that hit the fence after bouce are the ones that affect the opponent. I guess such a drill can be some measurement of progress - the more I practice, the less shots I will need to achieve 100 of those forehands. Do you know some other drills or maybe just some ideas how to keep track of your tennis? I'm the type of player that alter things a lot if I don't see immediate change in my game. That's why I can never stick to grinding my technique for longer period of time. This summer I want to change that, I will pick things I want to practice and not include any quirks to my game. But knowing myself I know that after some time I will question if I took the right direction, am I making a progress and is it the best way of progressing. It would be nice to have some way to prove myself I'm progressing, that woudl keep me motivated to grind!

Great video Nick. Do you have any videos about your forehand? It's perfect but I wonder what's the difference between lag ready position all the swing like yours and racquet head facing to the right and then whip. Hope I could explain lol.

the machine shoots balls very irregularly despite not having used the oscillation in the beginning of the video. Im pretty sure thats not a good indication of quality. Titan/spinfire/proton/lobster/spinshot or even Slinger shoots out more steady balls than this even with gusts like that.

The inconsistencies in ball delivery depend on the wind and the quality of the balls (some balls were dead). Pressureless balls will provide the most consistent delivery, I don’t like using them tho. All ball machines are the same in this regard and will not shoot out a new ball the same as an older ball.
@jadawin1137
@jadawin1137 6 ай бұрын
My ball machine is already several years old and I'm too lazy to clean it regularly, and I'm using it on clay only. So the ball delivery is also somewhat irregular. I actually see that as a good thing though. It's still regular enough to always hit the kind of shot you set it up for, but adds a bit of challenge by not being 100% predictable.
