I mean the thrower’s scent is probably left on the ball ( especially if the scent is something strong like lavender) Did you know dogs can smell fear? When you feel fear the chemical signals you produce/ sweat is different from regular sweat allowing the dog to identify that you’re feeling scared or stressed In other words You can’t hide from a dog (Kinda why police dogs exist since they’re good at finding and detaining people very quickly) :D
