You should listen to this artist's cover of "Innermost Heart"- Kikiyo's love theme from "Inuyasha." It's sadder and more haunting than this- but also spectacularly beautiful in every way. That aside, contrary to what most comments here say, I don't think this song, "To Love's End" was specifically intended for Kagome and Inuyasha- though it may apply to them. To me, it speaks more of the feelings between Naraku and Kikiyo, and between Kikiyo and Inuyasha. Inuyasha and Kikiyo are fictional characters who didn't end up together- she's a priestess, a healer, and a warrior/exorcist who fell in love with a half-human half-demon (Inuyasha) but was torn between her duty to protect the villagers from demons and demonic spirits and her personal feelings toward someone who has demon-blood and who supposedly hated humans. Naraku, on the other hand, was a sick, dying man helped by Kikiyo. In that moment Naraku fell in love with the priestess and allowed himself to be possessed by demons so he could live on and pursue her. With the help of those demons, he disguised himself and made it appear as if Inuyasha tried to kill Kikiyo to steal the source of power she had been trying to protect from evil spirits. Though enraged, Kikiyo ended up sealing Inuyasha away instead of killing him, after which she passed away from her injuries. Later on, Kikiyo was resurrected to bring an end to Naraku's reign of terror... but in her state, she was half-alive and half-dead, feeding on souls. After a long, painful battle with demons, evil spirits and "yokai" Kikiyo, Inuyasha and Kagome were finally able to defeat Naraku. She bid Inuyasha farewell, both of them realizing that they will always love each other even if they can't be together anymore.

@@charlenequek7245 I don't think much would've changed. In my opinion, Kikyō knew that as she was undead she could not live with Inuyasha. She was both spiritually and emotionally bound to the moment where she died and a future with him was therefore not feasible. This is largely why she always harboured a sense of jealousy towards Kagome despite eventually warming to her enough to respect her relationship with Inuyasha and value her impact on him. I like the InuKik dynamic and Kikyō's my favourite character because of the complex emotions and philosophy behind her character, however I think that their personal circumstances meant that they were simply never meant to be
Kagome will forever be the most beautiful and strong soul. This theme is hers and Inuyasha's. I will forever love them
@turquoisemoon3654 Жыл бұрын
I think this song reflects more the sentiments of Naraku toward Kikiyo- and that of Inuyasha and Kikiyo toward each other. This was played in that moment when Naraku was trying desperately to answer Kagome's question, "What are you looking for?" Naraku destroyed Kikiyo and Inuyasha's relationship because he fell in love with Kikiyo and didn't want her to be happy with someone else- and Kikiyo tried to be cruel and act the villain to save Inuyasha the heartache and the grief- all the while trying to end Naraku herself so Inuyasha and Kagome can be free. Those who ship Kagome always say she did a lot for Inuyasha- but they forget that Kikiyo taught Inuyasha the most important thing- the power of true love. No matter how flawed and tragic that was, it was the reason Inuyasha and Kagome found each other. Inuyasha didn't deserve to be alone... and I believe that up to the very end, Kikiyo wanted to redeem herself by finding a way to set Inuyasha free. I think this song perfectly captures the pain, the sacrifice, and the redemption that the characters truly deserved. It's a song of true love that speaks of tragedy and redemption- rather than a youthful love song celebrating a happily-ever-after ending.
@renataalvim9281 Жыл бұрын
@@turquoisemoon3654 I disagreed on the part about Kikiyo teaching Inuyasha what is true love, because when Naraku pretended to be them to target each other, they still had distrust to one another, but I think she did help him to trust humans, which later will play a big part in him accepting Kagome so easily compared to when he first met Kikiyo. But I agreed on the song being more tragic than youthful, I'll just add Kagome to the mix, to fall in love with a person who is in love with the idea of another, and still find in her heart that through all the pain and suffering that she will go through, she hates the most seing Inuyasha sad, so she puts her feelings aside to help him, and even help Kikiyo. I love the insight nonetheless!
@turquoisemoon3654 Жыл бұрын
@@renataalvim9281 It was the "distrust" between Inuyasha and Kikyo that actually helped Inuyasha to learn about "trust." When Inuyasha and Kagome first met, he wasn't trusting either. It was only when Naraku's plot began to unravel that Inuyasha learned that he and Kikyo were both victims of a betrayal that neither of them caused. What is unique about Inuyasha and Kikyo's bond was the fact that Inuyasha continued loving Kikyo DESPITE the trust issues that tore them apart. Their past may have been torn by misunderstandings and betrayal but it didn't stop Inuyasha from loving her and admitting to himself, "Will my heart be ever strong enough to forget you?" For me, it's their torn and broken destinies that made Inuyasha and Kikyo's bonds extra special and transcendental.

The best chapter of my life was my childhood. The older I get, the more I sank deep into the darkness of the world..the reality. It was really scary when I first stepped my foot into the darkness that I had to face alone. I forgot all those positive, beautiful emotions I had inside me. I felt numb. I felt like I lost a part of myself. I tried my best in every part of my life to be the person my parents wanted me to be even if it meant to abandon my inner feelings. I thought they will acknowledge my efforts and praise me. But NO. That day never came. Never. All they did was put more and more expectations over my little self. Not knowing that their 13 year old kid sank deep inside the darkness because of it's heavy weight. I'm 18 now. These stories...anime....really helped me realize my true self. Helped me bring back the emotions I had lost. I love listening to these music. It brings back my childhood. And lastly I feel really happy and relieved for the person I've become now. I'm happy I became the person I needed the most in my life.

I watched this show on adult swim growing up, it’s only recently that I realized I’ve only seen the first 3/4 seasons of the show and never finished it! So I just finished watching the whole thing and man was it such a great anime, this soundtrack is an amazing cover 😢

My highschool sweet heart (ex) was a fan of this anime. I still think about her 15 years later and this song always reminds me of her. She was my first and only (so far) and I wish I could apologize to her for being a stupid person and breaking her heart. If we were still together then I probably wouldn't be sometimes struggling with loneliness. It's the biggest life lesson for me after all these years.

It's okay, life moves on.. things happen for a reason. Perhaps you both are destined to be with eachother again? Just believe in the future.. and things would work out, at least in some way 🌸✨

This brings me so many memories back. I remember growing up watching Inuyasha. I loved everything about this anime except for Kagome(lol). I loved de history, and the music was just... perfect. Inuyasha was my savior during my Kiddo days. Because my parents didn't put me attention at all. But they let me watch at least this in peace. I remember watching this thinking I lived there. In my world, where there were humans but other creatures too. And that I was part of their crew and had adventures with them... Inuyasha will always be in my heart as long as I live.

I've heard multiple renditions and reiterations in my 40 years of living. Most to all sounds the same. I am a huge lover of the tale and written pieces, styles and genres of this particular tune. While glancing upon this in my KZbin algorithm. I was like well another version of the melody. I was thinking one more time from another one wouldn't hurt. What's the worst that can happen? I clicked play and YOU WAS THE FIRST PERSON EVER THAT HAS MOVED ME TO TEARS ON THIS MAGNIFICENT PERFORMANCE! Very well done. A 10 out of 10 stars. ⭐ Thank you.
