Hello Phil, thank you for the videos they are of great interest my grandfather was in par during ww2 he was sent down from Berkshire to help or train the TA/RA based in par, I drove down from Devon to par last year and managed to find the buildings on the cliffs ( just as he described). But due to time I couldn't find the buildings in the woods. Sadly he died in 1991 but he left us with many story's of his time in par, also Wiltshire and Berkshire. Later on in the war he was attached to the Canadian army to bolster their numbers up. He was a battery sgt major. Many thanks for the videos once again. I will spend some more time in par and look around. It's a shame these buildings can't be preserved like the ones near to me in battery gardens brixham. It's a great shame to see them covered in graffiti and a dilapidated state.

Fascinating video. I'm from Par and was aware of the American camps along the cliffs from Par Docks. My father was a boy when they were there and had told me about meeting the soldiers etc. Thanks.

Thanks for the comment. If your interest is the eastern end of St Austell Bay make sure you look at my Bodmin Stop Line videos that cover Fowey, Polkerris and Par as they contain some of the corrected and updated material as I continue to discover more and more.

I used to do a bit of metal detecting as a kid there, and found a lot of ammunition! Most of which was immediately confiscated by my father!
