Actually it’s true, so many people from Uzbekistan (and other countries like Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, etc.) came all the way to Tijuana to cross the border, they stayed at the hotel I used to work in. They would demand that we lower the price, but we refused. When some of them were about to leave, they printed their documents and then called a taxi to take them to the border. None of them were denied entry to the US.

James Madison, better known as the chief writer of the US Constitution, wrote clearly that aliens (and he didn't make a distinction between legality) were NOT an "invasion" under purposes of the invasion clause of the US Constitution. Don't like immigration or those who cross the border, fine, but it is not germane to the invasion clause of the US Constitution. Also to point out another fact a higher percentage of those who crossed the border illegally (and who were caught in the last two years of the Trump presidency) ended up release then those caught in the first two years of the Biden presidency. If you really wanted to reduce the number of illegal immigrants, you'd endorse the proposal that has been put forward many times: harsh punishment for companies that employ them. Hire one illegal worker, pay a $1 million fine. Hire two, pay $2 million. And so forth. But Republicans never want to do anything like that. In fact, the very first person to have his prison sentence commuted by Donald Trump was a man who had hired hundreds of illegal aliens for his factory. (He was in jail for fraud associated with that.)

I live in India (I've also lived in the UK and Poland) and I honestly can't see the downside of illegal immigration. They're contributing to the economy (it may even be better for the economy to allow migrants). There is no evidence that illegal immigrants commit more crime (most studies suggest that they have a lower crime rate than the native population) They are also more ambitious. They're far more likely to have a successful startup. The only problem I think these conservative think tanks have is that they look different. You're demonizing people in search of a better life for political prowess. That's just disgusting.
